The Finance Team includes Accounting, Finance Business Partnership, Finance Operations, Financial Systems, Internal Audit, Investor Relations, Tax, and Treasury teams. Together, the team partners with leadership to provide insights, information, and guidance to make strategic and operational decisions, inform investors about our business model and progress, and ensure the company is financially healthy and consistently meeting our reporting obligations.

We're looking for a Manager, Accounting to join Snap Inc! As a member of the Accounting team, you will manage a team, analyze accounting treatment for certain transactions, record and report accounting transactions, and optimize processes for efficient and accurate data flow. You will collaborate cross functionally with other business partners daily to ensure accurate and timely accounting and US GAAP reporting.

What you'll do:

 Manage a team of 2-3 accounting professionals, including coaching, talent reviews, and goal setting/development plans

 Set the direction, priorities and workload balancing for your team and often have multiple projects under your supervision

 Manage a wide array of accounting areas such as Leases, Fixed Assets, and Expense Accruals, amongst others

 Review monthly and quarterly journal entries and account reconciliations for areas as assigned, ensuring high quality work product and level of detail

 Develop relationships and work closely with business partners to provide accounting and business support, including research and recommendations on accounting issues, changes in judgements and estimates that impact financial results, as well as implementation of accounting changes

 Design and implement new processes and controls as needed.

 Analyze, organize and deliver information that move teams to decisions and action

 Prepare and review materials for internal and external reporting on a monthly and quarterly basis

 Assess, research and document appropriate US GAAP treatment for various transactions within the business; specifically in the area of ASC 842 Leases

 Draft and maintain accounting policies related to Lease accounting, Fixed Assets, Expense accruals, and other

 Work at the lowest level of detail to understand Company operations and identify accounting issues.

 Identify risks in and drive process enhancements, implement controls, and maintain proper process documentation and evidence in accordance with SOX.

 Provide support for the external financial statement audits, as well as periodic internal audits

 Provide support for other ad hoc analyses and projects as needed

Pay Rate: $60-80/hr

Skills and Requirements

Strong technical accounting knowledge with an understanding of US GAAP and ability to document accounting conclusions

 Ability to work under pressure and perform several tasks concurrently in a deadline driven environment

 Excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills, and superior attention to detail

 Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact at all levels of the organization

 Exceptional analytical skills, including Excel

 A proactive, self-directed approach with the ability to multi-task, think creatively, and learn quickly in a fast-paced environment

 Detail-oriented with a high sense of urgency

 Exceptional organizational skills

 Strong work ethic with the ability to work extended hours during critical periods

 Able to work independently as well as collaboratively with a team

 Someone who is flexible, eager, and willing to build from the ground up

Minimum Qualifications:

 Bachelor's Degree in accounting or finance or equivalent years of experience

 6+ years of experience as an accounting professional

 2+ years managing a team

 CPA License Big 4 firm experience

 Fortune 500 and/or private company experience

 Experience working in cloud finance systems (Oracle, Netsuite, etc.)

 2+ years with a focus on ASC 842 Lease Accounting null
