As a Technical Maintenance Specialist (SCADA Unit) for the Water and Wastewater Facilities, you will perform highly skilled technical work in such areas as electrical, automation, and instrumentation technology.   • Maintain, repair, monitor, and/or calibrate a variety of electronic, hydraulic/pneumatic, control circuitry, sensors, meters, detectors, and other specialized test equipment used to support the utility.

  • Provide support for the hardware and/or software utilized in these technologies: SCADA, Maximo, and remote telemetry.

  • Inspect and diagnose control circuitry and instrumentation, PLC, VFD, and/or hardware/software problems.

  • Utilize a variety of equipment skills with test equipment, pneumatic/hydraulic testers, computers, control panels, microprocessors, and shop instruments.

  • Install, adjust, and maintain SCADA system, alternating and direct current devices, sensors, analog/digital parameter transmitters, receivers, transmitters, auxiliaries, etc. according to diagrams, schematics, and drawings.

  • Install instrumentation controls per specification and make modifications to equipment.

  • Make complete rehab including adjusting, repairing, and replacing parts to convert obsolete equipment to conform with present instrumentation design and construction standards.

Work Hours: Monday - Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. On-Call Required.

About You

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Technical School diploma or its equivalent and two (2) years of experience in the related field.

    • OR - High School Diploma or GED and three (3) years experience in the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electronics equipment and IT Technologies.
  • A valid Florida Driver's License at the time of hire.

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Courses in electronic control, instrumentation, electrical engineering, remote data acquisition, IT Technology Systems, or related field .

  • International Society for Automation (ISA) certification as a Certified Control Systems Technician (CCST).

  • Electrical and industrial electrical work.

    Physical Demands: Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Subject to Passing Substance Screening: This position is subject to passing a pre-employment substance screening. An applicant who fails to pass a required drug screening test shall be disqualified from employment in any class for a period of five (5) years. About Everything Else Starting Pay Range: $25.45- $34.35 Full Salary Range (Future earning potential): $25.45- $43.26 Benefits:
