Global Foundries Equipment Engineer for PVD_CVD in Saxony, Germany

Your Job

Globalfoundries Fab1 is seeking an Equipment Engineer in Dresden Germany. The individual selected for this position will work together with GlobalFoundries maintenance technicians and other system experts and equipment-, manufacturing- and process Engineers. The employee will be responsible for a certain type of PVD/ALD tools and applications used in a leading edge semiconductor manufacturing environment. Additional projects will include the further optimization of the PVD/ALD equipment used for different technologies. In addition a high volume production environment needs to be maintained (quality vs. wafer volume and cost).

Your responsibilities include:

  • Equipment ownership including responsibility of hardware performance for fleet of specific PVD equipment type

  • To become the technical expert of machine and respective specification

  • High focus on preventative and corrective maintenance objectives including complex tool troubleshooting

  • To generate and optimize maintenance work instructions and to ensure an effective maintaining of equipment with the team of shift technicians

  • To coach and mentor maintenance shift personnel on skill level, direct feedback and work performance (technical leadership)

  • Interact with supplier service team on site in order to ensure an effective OEM service

  • Continuous improvement of equipment reliability and OEE maximization by proposing and realizing optimizations of maintenance processes

  • To ensure cost minimization by efficient utilization of resources including parts management/2nd sourcing and shop floor optimization

  • To perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and to support all Environmental, Health, Safety and Security requirements and programs

  • To suport the start-up of new equipment until “ready for process” including hookup/facilitation, the suppliers hardware and process startup and the acceptance

  • To ensures an appropriate maintenance documentation is done in SAP

  • FDC is used for equipment control and further developed towards predictive maintenance in collaboration with the FDC driver of the module

Required Qualifications

  • Engineering/Bachelor degree or similar (e.g. “staatlich geprüfter Techniker”) including multiple year work experience in any of the following engineering fields: Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Microelectronics or equivalent

  • Long term experience in high volume semiconductor manufacturing, minimum 5 years

  • Profound knowledge of PVD/ALD equipment

  • Experiences in maintenance methods and equipment engineering, respectively the treatment of equipment in productive operation and the continuous improvement

  • Familiar to work in cross-functional teams of equipment/process engineers and maintenance technicians as well as suppliers service

  • Capable to fluidly communicate in English language – written & verbal.

  • Comprehensive project management skills

  • Goal oriented

  • Excellent team player / assertiveness
