The team:
Scotiabank’s Global Technology & Enterprise Platform (GTEP) - Tools & Monitoring - Workflow Automation Team is responsible for the deployment, maintenance, and support of the Bank’s application & infrastructure Workload Scheduling products. Our Tidal Enterprise Scheduler Application Team is an automation platform for enterprise workloads, batch job scheduling, data, and application integration.
The role:
You will be accountable for providing Database & Infrastructure Technical Support for theTidal Enterprise Scheduler Application.
In this role, when required, you can expect to provide extended support (after hours - 24x7) for engagement(s) in real-time troubleshooting & resolution of Priority 1/Major incidents.
Is this role right for you?
You are keen to embrace the lead role as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Linux Operating System (OS) & Database related technical tasks.
You excel at creating Database Queries for various requests that are required from our users.
You are ready to create Shell Scripts, when required.
You are eager to support the Tidal Enterprise Scheduler application from an Administrator perspective.
You take pride in providing ongoing maintenance, optimization, enhancements, and project involvement in support of our business partners, while ensuring service availability targets are met and/or exceeded.
You are willing to provide support for assigned applications systems, evaluate problems of moderate complexity, and identify actions to be taken and recommend/implement solutions to Workload Automation tool/system problems.
You will play a critical role by testing new software releases to ensure successful implementation with no impact to the existing environments.
You are motivated to deliver negotiated product/function, as per the bank’s standards and methodologies. This includes preparing deliverables for operational readiness and steady state support.
You thrive on collaborating with stakeholders, including Infrastructure & Application Support Teams to gather requirements, align priorities, and drive successful IT Operations Management (ITOM) initiatives.
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role?
You possess effective communication (verbal/written) skills.
You can demonstrate effective interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.
You have at least 5+ years ofhands-on technical working experience as an Oracle Database Developer.
You have at least 3+ years of hands-on technical working experience in developing effective shell scripts on Linux/Solaris Operating Systems.
You have at least 3+ years of hands-on technical working experience in creating Database Queries with Oracle PL/SQL.
You have at least 1+ years of hands-on technical working experience in creating Database Queries with Windows SQL.
Hands-on working experience in using the Tidal Enterprise Scheduler application is an asset.
You have completed a post-secondary education in Computer Science, Engineering, or in related Technology stream.
