Description
We are a healthcare organization located in Scottsdale, AZ, seeking a Contract-to-Hire Medical Billing Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong medical billing knowledge and proficiency in MS Office.
Responsibilities:
Review and process medical billing claims accurately and efficiently
Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility
Submit claims to insurance companies and follow up on unpaid or denied claims
Review and resolve billing errors and discrepancies
Communicate with patients regarding their billing inquiries and payment options
Maintain patient records and billing information in compliance with HIPAA regulations
Assist with month-end billing reconciliations and reporting
Collaborate with medical staff and insurance companies to resolve billing issues
Stay updated on changes in medical billing regulations and coding requirements
Provide support for other administrative tasks as needed
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree in Medical Billing or related field preferred
2+ years of experience in medical billing or healthcare administration
Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel and Word
Knowledge of medical billing software and coding systems (e.g., CPT, ICD-10)
Understanding of insurance billing processes and reimbursement guidelines
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information in compliance with HIPAA
