Transformational Relationship Manager

Alliance Defending Freedom is looking for two highly professional Transformational Relationship Managers to join us in our Scottsdale, AZ office. As a Transformational Relationship Manager, you are a vital part of the Development Team. In this role, you will report to Sr. Director of Transformational Relationships, and are responsible for the management of a portfolio of approximately 500 ADF Ministry Friends (MnFs). You will be responsible for the engagement and cultivation of your MnFs by following the communication guidelines in place. Building a relationship with the MnFs is the key focus of this position. You are not just a person who supplies the MnF with information, but through intentional communication, you will seek to deepen existing relationships and identify the MnF’s passion for the ministry. This type of engagement will lead you to the place where you will protect/increase existing gifts.

Your Essential Responsibilities:

In this position, you will:

  • Demonstrate relational excellence with a variety of constituents, including MnFs at all levels, prospective MnFs, and the general public, supported by anecdotal evidence and minimal team leader involvement

  • Interact with MnFs through phone calls, emails, note cards, gifts, and visits depending on optimal type of contact for each individual. This is accomplished by completing a set number of meaningful engagement phone calls per month and leveraging automation and individual communication to manage your portfolio. Increase revenue each fiscal year by established percentage through regular and strategic contact.

  • Increase retention rate among active donors on your portfolio

  • Independently engage with MnFs according to targeted contact campaigns established by the team leader

  • Provide team support for Directors of Transformational Partnerships (DTP) through partnership in the prospecting plan and identification of MnFs who can be upgraded to the DTP level

  • Occasional face-to-face visits with MnFs

Other Responsibilities (Non-Essential):

  • You will be asked to perform related duties or special projects as assigned

  • You may be a part of some ADF events

Skills you need to succeed:

Knowledge of:

  • Development team processes and events protocols

Demonstrated proficiency in:

  • Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, and Outlook

  • Excellent organizational skills

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills and emotional intelligence

  • Strong networking skills

  • Diligent research skills

  • Project and/or relationship management skills

Ability to:

  • Identify a fundraising opportunity within our existing structures

  • Minister to people and promote and inspire giving over the phone through strong interpersonal communication skills with charismatic or otherwise inspirational delivery

  • Understand and adapt messaging and talking points for MnFs

  • Travel as needed

  • Effectively communicate via email

  • Be empathetic towards all those you are in contact with

Education and/or experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • Sales or fundraising experience preferred
