Do you want to be part of Amazon’s founding business and work with the world’s most influential publishers? Come join the team that started it all! The Books Amazon Vendor Services team is seeking a highly-motivated Account Manager to work directly with some of our most strategic Books publishers.

The Account Manager is responsible for driving the value, selection, and convenience across a publisher's Amazon business, and plays a key role in shaping the future of the program by solving complex problems, leveraging data to make decisions, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet organizational goals. In this role, you will create and execute strategic joint business plans, collaborate with publishers and vendor managers to explore innovative ways to achieve account goals that drive success in selection, merchandising and operations, and provide day-to-day support for your publishers.

The ideal candidate for this role should possess strong vendor account management, data analysis, and decision-making skills. They should be able to deliver services against defined processes and services and actively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Above all, they should demonstrate a high level of ownership, with the ability to deal with ambiguity, as they would be the face of Amazon to key publishers, owning their satisfaction and contributing to their experience driving their Amazon business.

Key job responsibilities

Account Managers are responsible for driving publisher business improvement and delivering a positive program experience. The key responsibilities of Account Managers are as follows:

Publisher Support and Business Improvement:

  • Identify, action and/or provide advice on how to improve business input metrics that drive growth and improve end customer experience, in collaboration with other Books programs and teams.

  • Play a central oversight role in key projects.

  • Demonstrate excellent time-management skills and the ability to work independently while following established procedures and policies.

  • Deliver timely, accurate and professional support to publishers.

Publisher Relationship Management:

  • Build strong relationships with publishers; be a trusted advisor and serve as the main point of contact for daily business support.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams as necessary to create action plans that resolve complex problems.

  • Provide relevant recommendations on Amazon tools and policies that help drive improvements in the way publishers operate.

Program Process Excellence:

  • Assist with the definition and design of tools, standard operating procedures, and processes of the team.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional and cross-marketplace stakeholders and contribute to continuous improvement in program service levels.

Basic Qualifications

  • 2+ years of sales or account management experience

  • 2+ years of digital advertising and client facing roles experience

  • Experience with Excel

  • Experience analyzing data and best practices to assess performance drivers

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience analyzing key open issues and resolution metrics for each of the managed accounts

  • Experience in relationship management within technology, start-ups, or SaaS Platforms

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $47,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $100,700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
