Aston Carter Dispatcher in SEATTLE, Washington

Description:

This position is responsible for monitoring alarm systems and communicating with customers and responders regarding occurrences from security and fire safety systems, Basic troubleshooting and coordinating with internal departments and customers to ensure systems are functioning. Essential Functions and Duties • Monitor alarms using the company’s computerized, automated alarm monitoring hardware and software. • Interpret signals received from alarm panels located on customer premises. • Notify customers or their designates of signals/alarms received. • Dispatch the appropriate police and/or fire department as needed in response to the alarm and the customer. • Record information related to alarms, calls, and phone calls. • Report irregular phone calls and/or signals to management for further action. • Determine customer service needs and route calls accordingly. • Answer incoming phone calls to our call center. • Read and accurately relay customer information (names, addresses, phone numbers, alarm information, notes) to customers, technicians, and emergency dispatch services • Read and follow step by step instructions on alarms accurately • Navigate network files to reference written instructions on how to perform non-urgent tasks and procedures • Quickly and accurately record information and instructions given by customers, technicians, and emergency dispatch services (type notes into our software) • Keep track of assigned tasks and switch between urgent and routine tasks based on call and alarm volume • Actively participate in training by reviewing documents and practicing tasks after initial training and telling trainers when further explanation or guided practice is needed

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities • Basic computer knowledge and experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook). • Exemplary customer service skills to deal with both internal and external customers. • Good written and verbal communication skills. • Able to speak and write in English. • Able to read maps to find locations. • Attention to detail. • Able to perform a number of functions simultaneously. For example, process alarm systems while picking up and speaking to incoming callers and listening to determine if false alarms are being called in. • Able to Start and Stop tasks while evaluating current priorities • Good situational awareness and ability to adapt to changing environments/needs • Able to prioritize and work independently on projects • Able to contribute to the team by helping and guiding, persuading, sharing openly and willingly, being an active participant, being flexible, and showing commitment. • Must be able to obtain TMA Level 1 Certification • Ability to type 35+ WPM First Day/Month Expectations: Training: Jean and Viviane does a lot of training, will be outlining what they will be doing. Everything that they will bel earning, go through checklist and train off something, sign off on it. Contractors have documents to go over to have them read, each day will be associate reference material, allow each day to learn and practice. Some days each week where they will practice what they learn and once they are in the later weeks, less hands on.
