Responsibilities

Research, design, plan and perform engineering duties in the area of environmental engineering. Duties may include: Perform tasks involving engineering evaluations, planning, modeling, design, and observation and oversight during construction for items related to water and wastewater treatment facilities, collection systems, and distribution systems. Perform detailed calculations such as system hydraulics; make equipment selections and recommendations; and size and design chemical, treatment, and other processes related to systems used to treat potable water or wastewater. During the design phase of a project, author technical specifications, which is part of the design documentation for clients to procure equipment and materials competitively. Perform cost estimating services by tabulating labor, material, equipment, standard markups, and sales taxes and develop opinions of probable construction costs for clients. Design activities involve interaction with design drafters to prepare drawings, which a contractor will use to build the facilities. During the construction phase of projects, perform construction oversight, which generally involves inspecting the work and interpreting the contract documents. Under the supervision of a registered professional engineer, interpret whether the work substantially conforms to the plans and specifications. Document these inspections in daily reports, which other engineers will review. May telecommute. Travel to various client sites within the Seattle area required.

Qualifications

Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering, or a related field, plus 6 months of work experience as an Environmental Engineer, or a related occupation. *In lieu of 6 months of work experience, employer will also accept course work, internships or projects that document knowledge of the required skills.

Pay Range

The salary range for this position is $95,784 -$112,000/year. May be eligible for standard corporate
