Publisher Technology is a new program in Amazon Ads that is pioneering new experiences for Ad Publishers (video, audio, display) to sell their inventory, optimize yield and maximize monetization. It caters to both Amazon first party (e.g. Prime Video, FireTV, Twitch), and third party - as they build new advertising experiences for their customers. Amazon.com is seeking a Finance Manager to lead business support for the new Publisher Technology program as part of the Advertising Finance team. This role will attract builders as Amazon strives to provide value for our advertising customers through innovative brand advertising products. This is an exciting opportunity to have ownership of all associated finance functions, including developing short- and long-term business goals, financial forecasts/analyses and measuring business performance. This position will work closely with business teams to create financial models and provide decision support, including supporting product roadmap discussions and developing new business opportunities. This role has regular interaction with various business units across Amazon and requires strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Key job responsibilities

  • Own overall financial assessment and strategic planning of the Publisher Technology business

  • Create analysis to help prioritize key initiatives

  • Contribute to the annual long-term strategic plan and annual operating plan

  • Evaluate new and ambiguous business opportunities through financial modelling and sensitivity analytics

  • Participate deeply in creation of Weekly, Monthly and Quarterly Business Reviews, long-term strategy documents and investment documents

  • Oversee and execute entire projects or components of large projects from start to finish

A day in the life

This role will lead the team supporting the new Publisher Technology program that aims to create new experiences for Ad Publishers to sell their inventory, optimize yield and maximize monetization. This role will drive financial planning and forecasting, business operations, goal setting and business case support. You will work hand-in-hand with your business partners in advertising as well as stakeholders across Amazon to size investment opportunities, perform impact analyses, and assess future financial risk and opportunities.

About the team

Amazon Publisher Technology (APM) Finance team supports ads businesses for Devices (e.g. FireTV), Audio, Video (e.g. Freevee), and Store Display as well as Publisher Technology team. These are nascent, high growth and high visibility areas with stakeholders across Advertising, Amazon Music, FireTV, Alexa, and Prime Video. This is a team of builders with a focus on not only creating world class ad products, but also world class consumer experiences. The APM Finance team is designed to be collaborative; although team members have clear ownership of an area(s), success typically involves partnering with others in the broader finance team.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience

  • Experience performing ad hoc analysis using advanced Excel

  • Experience building and managing financial models for business forecasting and problem solving

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA, or CPA

  • Knowledge of SQL/ETL

  • Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results

  • Experience delivering results for large, cross-functional initiatives/projects

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $81,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
