Hospitality Specialist - Full Time

Location: Seattle, WA

Rate: $27.24/HR

This role is for those who wish to work in a landmark location, hosting thousands of guests each year including the clients associates and hosted privet events. We are looking for those who want to engage with guests, be part of an amazing team, cover a variety of tasks and who wish to hone their leadership and customer service skills.

  • Customer Service: Be a customer service model for other staff, associates, and visitors. Greet, orient and assist visitors and associates. Provide information about the client site, Public Saturdays, displays and events

  • Opening Preparation: deploy stanchions, setup up signage, and perform other duties as assigned to prepare for the day's business

  • Closing Preparation: provide closing reminders to all associates and visitors, perform final reminders and floor sweeps to secure the building for closing

  • Event Preparation: In addition to signage and stanchion deployment, provide escorts into the space for catering and productions setups, greet in lobby and exterior of arriving vendors, provide associates and members of the public with a positive interaction while communicated the building is closed for an event

  • Proactively work with the team for projects to be completed during down times and follow up to ensure completion. Work with all departments to ensure alignment on events and daily operations

  • Communication: Relay to the team and/or managers if there are any operational issues affecting our daily business, or if there are areas which could be improved upon

  • Teamwork: Appropriately seek and value others' input, collaborate effectively and interact with the staff in a positive, professional and constructive manner

  • Flexibility: Be available to man any post at anytime during shift to aid as needed for all daily and afterhours operations

  • Other duties as assigned

  • Inspect premises to assess the need for repairs, badge reader, lighting outages and report any issues to the appropriate teams

Position Requirements:

  • 18 years of age or older

  • High School Diploma or GED Required

  • Standard computer / technology skills needed

  • Must be able to provide exceptional customer service to our clients and their guests

  • Must be responsible, accountable, objective, and have a strong work ethic

  • Conflict resolution and de-escalation skills a plus

  • Must be able to interact with a wide range of individuals in a professional manner

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • A deep knowledge, passion, and appreciation for customer relations

  • Demonstrated experience in successfully curating exhibitions in a museum or similar institution

  • Demonstrated leadership experience working in a non-profit or museum setting

  • Strong attention to detail and precision

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

  • Demonstrated commitment to excellence in museum operations

  • Ability and desire to work with a diverse range of people

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a cooperative, collaborative environment

  • Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends

  • Sense of grace under pressure is highly desired

  • Ability to work with close attention to detail and to maintain confidentiality

  • Ability to work professionally and tactfully and support management decisions in a positive, professional manner

  • Excellent customer service skills

  • Ability to maintain a positive approach when dealing with difficult internal/external customers in a consistent, professional manner

  • Ability to learn and adapt quickly in a constantly changing environment

  • 1+ year relevant customer service driven work experience
