Position Title: Laboratory Technician I
Location: Seattle, WA
Shift: M-F 4pm-1230am
Salary: $43,000 plus a 10% shift differential

How You'll Make an Impact
Our Lab Techs strictly adhere to laboratory SOPs to ensure quality and safety while handling samples for Sanger Sequencing. They are proactive, detail oriented, able to meet tight deadlines, and strive in fast-paced work environments. They understand the big picture, while paying attention to the details. They understand our customer needs with empathy and know that everything they do is making a difference. On-site training will be provided.
What You'll Do
Adhere to Safety Protocols
Strictly follow SOPs and site trainer's direction in training, sample handling, project processing, and documentation
Assist and maintain the cleanliness of work area
Sort incoming samples
Prepare sequencing template, including preparation, amplification, and PCR purification
Labware Washing, biohazard waste collection and packaging
Communicate with customers by e-mail in a friendly and professional manner
Assist in purifying sequencing template and load samples onto sequencing machines
Ability to lift 25 lbs.
Job requires both sitting and standing for 8 hours a day
Must be able to bend, twist and walk for extended periods of time
Fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination
May require working overtime and/or weekends on rotation
What You Will Bring
High School Diploma required
AAS Degree or equivalent lab work experience preferred
1+ years of lab work experience preferred
Excellent attention to detail
Proactive team member
Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Eager to learn and retain new concepts quickly
Excellent interpersonal skills; both verbal and written
Previous laboratory experience a plus
Micropipette and multichannel pipette experience a plus
LIMS experience a plus
Pay range is $40-$43K base salary
