The Consumer Identity Services (CIS) team provides critical consumer facing access and identification services across The Walt Disney Company (TWDC) business units. Nearly every digital consumer experience across the

company relies on CIS for mission critical business operations, including booking Disney Parks and Resort vacations, playing ESPN Fantasy Football, buying products from Shop Disney and many more. These identity services

are responsible for over 300 million guest and fan accounts, and billions of transactions per year. As part of the My Account team, you will be tackling cutting edge issues that come with cloud-based infrastructures, platform resiliency requirements,

security, and data at scale. These challenges are regularly given on tight timelines, and we are looking for experienced engineering team members able to make the right decisions and drive them to execution. This position will serve as a primary contributor on the team as well as help the team

navigate the changing technology landscape. My Account is the central hub for User data related to their profiles within The Walt Disney Company. With our many business units, we plan to bring together much of the interaction user’s subscribe to in one place for them to understand and control their information.

Responsibilities

● Craft web application software using NextJS and REACT, with strong software development fundamentals and strong design principles (object oriented or functional)

● Work with a team of engineers building software in a collaborative development process, without being dogmatic about technology choices

● Participate in the full-lifecycle of software development (requirements gathering, designing, building, testing and maintenance)

● Take on leadership as needed, by being both a strong independent contributor, and supporting your teammates

● Design and build RESTful web services that make use of relational and/or NoSQL DBs

● Build automated testing at different levels (unit, integration, functional) and build resilient applications that handle failure gracefully

Basic Qualification

  • Bachelor or above in Computer Science or another comparable field of study or equivalent work experience

  • Minimum of 7 years of related work experience, delivering high-quality code​.​

  • Minimum of 2 years experience delivering Single Page Web Apps using NextJS or React with automated testing.

  • You have functional experience with AWS services (ECS, DynamoDB, Kinesis, Lambda, etc.) or other cloud providers

  • ​4+ years hands on experience with automated end-to-end testing across various browsers and mobile devices

Preferred qualification

● Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery

● You're an expert in REST API semantics and idiosyncrasies

● Experience designing for highly visited sites and complex caching

The hiring range for this position in Bristol is $149,300 – $200,200 per year, in Glendale is $149,300 – $200,200 per year, Seattle is $156,300 – $209,600 per year and New York is $156,300 – $209,600 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
