Port of Seattle Marine Maintenance Asset Management System Coordinator in Seattle, Washington

Some of what you'll be doing:

As Marine Maintenance Asset Management System Coordinator you will be responsible for the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of Port’s Asset Management System (AMS) in accordance with ISO 55000 and 55001 standards. This included overseeing the preventative maintenance module to optimize asset performance and longevity while minimizing the operational costs. This role is a key role in ensuring the efficient and reliable operation on all our facilities and equipment.

  • You will lead the development and implementation of the Asset Management System, ensuring alignment with ISO 55000 and 55001 requirements and conduct internal audits and gap analysis to identify and address non-conformities.

  • You will manage and maintain all relevant documentation, including asset registers (Maximo, Fulcrum, SharePoint) maintenance plans and procedures, train and educate stakeholders on ISO 55000 and 55001 requirements and AMS procedures, collaborate with external auditors during certification audits

  • You will develop and implement Preventive Maintenance (PM) plans and schedules for facility assets, oversee the execution Preventative Maintenance of Job plan tasks by maintenance personnel or contractors.

  • You will Analyze Preventative Maintenance data to identify trends, assess equipment health, and optimize PM schedules. Develop and implement maintenance performance metrics and KPIs.

  • You will maintain accurate and up-to-date assets in Maximo, including equipment specifications, maintenance, history, and criticality rankings.

  • You will manage the asset lifecycle, including acquisition, commissioning, operation, maintenance, and disposal, develop and implement risk management strategies for assets.

  • You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as operations, engineering, and finance, to optimize asset management practices.

  • You will participate in 24/7 after-hours program handling all facilities issues when regular dispatch in unavailable after hours on weekdays and during weekends and holidays.

Who you are:

  • Experienced – You have two (2) years of asset management and preventative maintenance program development experience and two (2) years experience in ISO certification (preferably with ISO 55001).

  • Educated – You possess a High School diploma or equivalent.

  • Desired – We hope you have an Associate Degree and Certified Asset Management Assessor (CAMA) and/or Institute of Asset Management Certification.

  • Knowledgeable – You have a strong understanding of ISO 55000 and 55001 standards, experience in facilities maintenance asset management and development and implementation of preventative maintenance program. You are proficient in relevant software applications, such as MS Office, database system and CMMS (Cloud Computerized Management Maintenance System).

  • Analytical Problem Solver – You have analytical and decision-making skills to be able to access and issue and determine an optimal solution. You are skilled in gathering, analyzing, and synthesizing complex data to inform strategy, negotiations, and process improvement. You have effective and well-developed troubleshooting skills to identify root cause analysis and provide solutions in a timely manner.

  • Detail oriented – You possess a strong attention to detail and a high level or accuracy. You develop original ideas, approaches, and solutions to typical, unusual, or difficult situations or problems.

What else you need to know:

  • Driver’s License – You will need a valid Washington State Driver’s License, or the ability to obtain one, is required to travel locally to project sites.

  • Work Schedule – Your normal work schedule will be Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (40 hours per week). Slightly more flexible start and end times are available in this role. You may be required to work any and all assigned shifts, including weekends and holidays. You may be required to work during emergencies.

  • Work Environment - This work will take place in a hybrid remote/in-office setting at Management’s discretion.

  • Residency Requirement – Employees must establish a residence in Washington state within 30 days of their first day of employment and must maintain a residence in Washington State during their employment with the Port of Seattle. If a position is eligible to telework, work performed while teleworking must be performed in Washington State.

  • Safety Requirements – You will be required to comply with all work rules, safety, and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements.

  • Security Requirements – As the successful candidate, you must obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC) within the first three months of employment.
