Title: Research Study Assistant
Job Class: Hourly/Non-Exempt $20-22/hour DOE
PI: Dr. Cyrus Zabetian
Reports To: Dora Yearout
General Duties/Description:
The Research Assistant will play an integral role in ongoing, multicenter research studies on Parkinson's disease based at the Seattle VA Medical Center. This individual will participate in subject screening and recruitment, collection of clinical information, procurement of biological specimens, medical records review, and data coding/entry.
Under minimal supervision, this individual will:
Screen subjects for eligibility criteria
Obtain informed consent from study participants
Collect clinical information from interviews with study participants
Enter clinical information and test results into database
Create and file subject charts
Process biospecimen
Schedule visits for study participants
Coordinate projects with other research groups
Maintain contact with physicians and community organizations for recruitment
Requirement: Bachelor's degree in relevant academic areas.
Desirable:
Ability to work independently, strong interpersonal skills
A strong working knowledge of Microsoft Access and Excel software
