Amazon Senior Data Analytics Specialist, US EDU & SLG Data & AI Specialist Team in Seattle, Washington

As a specialist within Amazon Web Services, you will shape the future of the data analytics industry and further establish Amazon as the leader in the cloud data & AI space

You will work directly with the most interesting and demanding customers in assigned customer segments to understand requirements and turn them into reality. You will use your business savvy to increase adoption of AWS analytics services, develop programs, drive revenue and identify new opportunities.

Working hand in hand with our sales teams and solution architects, you will help deliver modern data-driven solutions based on our platform of analytics services. Your in-depth technical background in analytics will help customers understand how to improve their businesses using the right services. Your excellent verbal and written communication skills will allow you build enablement tools and evangelize our platform with customers and valued partners.

You will possess both a business background that enables them to drive an engagement and interact at the CxO/VP level, as well as a technical background that enables them to easily interact with software developers and data architects. You should also have a demonstrated ability to think strategically and analytically about business, product, and technical challenges, with the ability to build and convey compelling value propositions, and work cross-organizationally to build consensus. A keen sense of ownership, drive, and scrappiness is a must.

Key job responsibilities

  • Drive Data & AI modernization for large enterprise accounts and how it can drive value and mission outcomes

  • Solution and data platform sales focused on SLG/EDU mission domains (Health and Human Services, Justice and Public Safety/Transportation, Finance and Administration, K12, Higher Education/Research and Academic Medical Centers), ISV Data-driven applications, Data warehouse modernization, Data lake transformation and Business Intelligence activation

  • Generate a plan to ensure broad Data Analytics penetration into strategic AWS accounts

  • Land new Data Analytics workloads in existing AWS accounts and accelerate Data Analytics consumption for key accounts with ramping Data Analytics spend.

  • Dive deep on engaged opportunities and set forth a prescriptive plan to accelerate delivery of a comprehensive native solution

  • Focus on Generative AI use cases and how organizations can drive value

  • Run localized enablement sessions, curated sales assets, leveraging customer propensity buy signals

  • Support sales plays and 1: M motions for region / domain

  • Build and maintain executive relationships with customers as the Data Analytics subject matter expert, influence long-term strategic direction, and act as a trusted advisor.

  • Partner with customer key stakeholders in providing data vision and direction for the enterprise

  • Provide leadership and guidance to sales teams, as a subject matter expert

Basic Qualifications

  • 7+ years of direct sales or business development in software, cloud or SaaS markets selling to C-level executives experience

  • 10+ years of business development, partner development, sales or alliances management experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Data analytics learning technical knowledge with ability to go deep enough on technical aspects to differentiate between varied analytics approaches (data warehousing, ETL/ELT, operational analytics etc.).

  • Experience in large enterprise customer facing roles.

  • MBA, Computer Science, and/or Engineering/Math background highly desired; working knowledge of data engineering, data infrastructure practices highly desired.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $114,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $212,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. This position is eligible for variable pay via a sales compensation plan. These plans pay according to achievement level against sales targets and/or business objectives. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
