Amazon Senior Vendor Manager, Home Improvement, Lawn & Garden in Seattle, Washington

Description

Amazon is launching a new product category that will deliver a brand new, best-in-class experience for customers. We are looking for a Sr. Vendor Manager to lead business development with top brands to unlock new selection for this initiative.

You will be responsible for cultivating close relationships with C-suite executives at top brands while collaborating closely with our product management team to build, maintain, and improve the exciting new fulfillment capabilities required to unlock this selection. Key responsibilities include business development, launching and managing vendor relationships, P&L ownership (including reporting, revenue, and margin growth), vendor terms negotiations, and maintaining excellent operational performance.

This role has a heavy emphasis on business development. We are seeking a candidate with strong executive presence and business acumen that can build credibility and negotiate with top executives at these companies. You must also be able to Earn Trust and collaborative effectively with numerous internal stakeholder teams that build and maintain fulfillment processes to enable this business. Above all, you must have an entrepreneurial spirit and passion for bringing breakthrough selection to customers globally.

Key job responsibilities

  • Build trust and credibility with executives at top brands to onboard new selection for Amazon customers

  • Develop and execute strategic vision to grow selection, sales, and margin for your category

  • Negotiate product costs and terms with vendors

  • Collaborate with product management team to build the fulfillment capabilities needed unlock new selection

  • Manage operational input metrics to maintain an excellent customer experience

  • Stay on top of industry and competitive trends

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree

  • 5+ years of account management, project or program management or buying experience

  • Experience driving direction and alignment with cross-functional teams

  • Experience using data to influence business decisions

  • Experience with business analysis and P&L management

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA

  • Experience presenting to senior leadership

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $96,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
