Diamond Parking Service Staff Accountant in Seattle, Washington

We are seeking a Staff Accountant to join our accounting team. This is a great opportunity to get experience with tax compliance and corporate accounting. This individual should be a quick learner with the ability to deal with complex accounting issues. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: * Verify daily deposit transactions for multiple bank accounts * Daily bank downloads * Balance Sheet reconciliations and analysis, including the preparation of journal entries as needed * Tracking and ensuring timely filing of business licenses and other state filings * Prepare monthly/quarterly/annual local sales & use tax returns including reconciling tax payable accounts, reviewing invoices for use tax reporting, and completing sales & use tax returns * Prepare personal property tax returns and personal property reconciliations, including documentation, payment submissions and recording payments in NetSuite * Assist with NetSuite reports for various projects * Prepare monthly and annual tax-related fixed asset accounting and roll-forwards using SAGE Software * Perform special projects as assigned for both accounting and tax functions * Perform general administrative support for the office, including mail sorting and phones SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This job has no direct supervisory responsibilities. However, this role will coordinate with other departments and staff on a regular basis. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent experience with 1.5 years of accounting experience or internships preferred. Experience with accounting systems and fixed asset software preferred. Must have ability to complete assigned projects with minimal guidance, within time constraints and deadlines, and determine accuracy and reliability of data generated both within and outside of areas of responsibility. Strong organizational and analytical skills. Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications, particularly Excel. Previous experience with SAGE or other fixed asset software, general ledger software, especially NetSuite, is a plus. LANGUAGE SKILLS Fluent in English in both verbal and written communications. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and tax law or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of coworkers, managers, customers, and the public. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent, and draw and interpret bar graphs. q. #: 4839991) REASONING ABILITY High level of attention to detail. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form, and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
