Job Description Summary:
Reporting to the Vice President, Finance, Greater Asia, the Finance Director Korea provides financial leadership to the Korea Managing Director through the facilitation, formulation and execution of strategies that drive Korea business performance.
The Finance Director, Korea leads the Finance Korea team and is a member of the Korea Executive Leadership team and the Greater Asia Regional Finance team.
Responsibilities:
Business Partnering
Partner with Korea Managing Director and Executive Leadership Team to develop and implement strategies and objectives that drive Korea business performance.
Work collaboratively with key regional leaders to set and meet financial commitments for the Korea hub.
Provide financial insights and advice on resource allocation to facilitate business decision-making to drive profitable growth.
Collaborate across Korea and regional business units to resolve financial issues and identify and action cross-business opportunities.
Lead the preparation of Korea annual budget and forecasts, ensuring they are consistent with overall business objectives.
Monitor and report on financial status, including analysis of growth drivers and proactive review of risk and opportunities and suggested mitigation plans.
Partner with Korea Managing Director to lead the Annual Strategic Review for Korea.
Ensure that costs are in line with plan and identify opportunities for improved efficiencies.
Controlling
Ensure control and compliance initiatives are operating as intended and a strong control environment is maintained
Follow-up on actions from internal audits and commercial assurance recommendations
Collaborate with Greater Asia regional finance team to ensure regional transactions are conducted in accordance with prevailing standards
Work with Greater Asia and Corporate Treasury and Tax to ensure alignment of cash, banking and reporting strategies
Act as listed Australian Company Director
Adhere to the requirements of the Quality Management System as maintained by BD Korea
Talent
Lead the assessment, development and deployment of talent within the Korea Finance team
Lead, coach and support Finance team to achieve individual and team goals
Knowledge & Experience:
Degree in a Finance discipline is required.
A minimum of 15 years’ experience as a Controller or Finance head within a multinational business, including exposure to U.S. GAAP
Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.
Strong finance process and project management operating acumen
Highly developed business acumen, critical and strategic thinking capability
Experience in financial statement preparation and analysis.
Excellent communication and influencing skills across broad audiences.
Results orientation demonstrates bias for action.
High degree of personal credibility, ability to instill confidence in others through provision of candid observations and alternative insights on business issues.
Experience within medical technology industry is highly desired.
