Job Responsibilities:

Being a member of the functional leadership team, supports the BDS Global Functional Head in the strategic leadership of the function. This includes ensuring functional quality and compliance of deliverables, the definition and development of functional standards, and effective and efficient deployment of functional resources.
Together with Agile Coaches and other Capability Managers, removing organizational impediments of fundamental and conceptual importance.
Acts as a Product Owner for complex and initially partially defined and strategically relevant functional and/or cross-functional topics and initiatives regarding BI's ability to develop valuable products, thereby contributing the strategy of BDS and contributing to the strategy of other functions and units with regards to these aspects.
In close collaboration with BDS leadership teams, contributes to a mature BDS resource and strategic workforce planning and deployment. This includes the assessment of capability needs and the deployment of the members of the chapter through assignment of appropriate roles.
Job Requirements:
MSc in a clinical development related field or comparable qualification.
At least 8 years of experience in clinical development in the pharmaceutical industry in an international context, at least 3 years of it in a leading role. In-depth functional knowledge and in-depth knowledge of the type of contribution BDS and other functions at BI provide to clinical development, and experience with collaborating with external partners.

(1) Understanding of the contribution of the BDS function in the larger context of clinical development.
(2) Understanding of the pharmaceutical industry and development of drugs.
(3) Business acumen and industry trends in clinical development.
(4) Project-management, communication, presentation, networking, and negotiation skills, and mindfulness of local, global, internal, and external cultures to ensure that messages are received positively and effectively.
(5) 'Agile' and 'Lean' values, principles, and practices.
(6) Ability to act as a Product Owner including making intent clear and empowering teams.
(7) Teamwork including timely decision making and results/measurement orientation.
(8) Ability to manage and cultivate change.
