At STM Journals, we collaborate with researchers to facilitate the publication of their impactful scientific discoveries, with a focus on rigorous peer review, ethics, and reproducibility. In support of our portfolio of 2700+ hybrid and open access scientific journals, you will actively contribute to advancing science, improving health outcomes, and fostering equitable participation in publishing.
About the Role
Are you interested in building a career in science that away from the bench? If so, we may have the perfect job for you as an Associate Scientific Editor on the Cell Reports team at Cell Press. We are looking for a scientist with experience working in any discipline in biology who shares our passion for helping scientists publish their best work.
Responsibilities
Overseeing the peer review and publication process of a growing open access journal
Working with a team of scientific editors to build and develop exciting content across biology
Building effective working relationships with colleagues across Cell Press
Networking with researchers at conferences and site visits
Requirements
A PhD or other relevant doctoral degree in any discipline in biology
Postdoctoral experience a plus
Broad scientific interests and curiosity; a passion for helping scientists publish their best work
Strong organizational skills; ability to prioritize and focus
A dynamic, results-oriented approach to goals and objectives
Creativity, willingness to experiment, and desire to improve
Researcher focused and detail oriented, with good written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work as a team and independently
A good understanding of digital communication, publishing trends and open access publishing.
