This is an exciting new role to support the BUs (Business Units) within the Pharma Services Group and the Clinical Trial Division to manage global trade processes, risk and increase efficiencies in the Asia-Pacific region.

The Position

Key responsibilities include, but are not exclusively:

  • Provide Imp/Exp visibility reports for the Asia-Pac sites.

  • Review of transactions to ensure compliance with Trade laws and regulations, including Denied Party/Restricted party screening and escalation resolution.

  • Providing input to leadership for process improvements (PPI)

Specific responsibilities:

  • Support Asia-Pac site Imp/Exp coordinators to create and implement Global Trade Compliance (GTC) SOPs.

  • Review and resolve international transactions or escalations.

  • Request and obtain Government or Customs broker Imp/Exp activity per site and make them readable/accessible.

  • Launch and track automated GTC training.

  • Develops and continually improves business processes by assisting with Trade Compliance audits and Practical Process Improvement (PPI) Projects.

  • Supervise and work with outside consultants on customs projects/cases.

Requirements:

  • Minimum High School degree and ideally college degree preferably with technical base or administration, logistics, customs or equivalent.

  • Proficient written and spoken English, previous work experience with international team.

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Customs /Trade Compliance regulations and practices.

  • Proficient with MS Office programs (i.e. Excel, Word)

  • Good communication skills - understand issues and to be able to formulate and articulate the most appropriate solutions to resolve them.

  • Have the ability to positively influence team / colleagues and customers in a professional manner.
