The SR Events Manager GC is accountable for shaping the future of Nike events in Greater China in line with local needs whilst leveraging global best practices and influence strategic vision for meetings and events with business partners.

The ideal candidate has strong ownership to motivate and develop (partner) teams in diverse contexts and act as business partner for internal stakeholders, understand their long-term objectives and proactively design a mid/long-term events strategy to support these objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set the direction, strategy and organization planning for GPS GC events team;

  • Develop and manage long-term internal strategic partnerships;

  • Drive key Nike stakeholder communications and decisions on campus meeting and events;

  • Develop a framework for high impact end-to-end events experiences that adds strategic value to Nike, including processes, tools, and implementation roadmaps;

  • Contribute to the strategic approach to suppliers and vendors and partner with global events counterparts to create a global strategic partner ecosystem;

  • Develop and evolve event tools that enable an integrated meetings and events program and team across Greater China;

  • Manage the event budget for GPS events, including forecasts and reporting;

  • Provides data analysis, and management information on progress against strategic planning and budgets;

  • Develop the capabilities map and structure for GPS GC events team and create, develop, and evolve (strategic) local partnerships for events logistics;

  • Lead, coach, drive and inspire a team of event experts to execute high quality Nike event experiences in Greater China;

  • Liaise with the global events teams, supporting global strategic meetings management work and other projects;

Education & Experience & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in communication, marketing, event management, language related or

  • Equivalent minimum of 10+ years of directly relevant experience in either brand events, business events, or corporate events as event management role;

  • Have extensive expertise in event project management, market best practice and market insights;

  • Strong communication skills, excellent in stakeholder management and influencing people;

  • Have strategic mindset for long term vision and planning, strategy development and deployment;

  • Solid experience in partner management, contracting and negotiation skills;

  • A good team leader with mature team coaching skills;

  • Able to work well under pressure in a deadline driven environment;

  • Flexible and able to manage ambiguity in turbulent situation;

  • Strong passion for the Nike brand, events, sports, and lifestyle / wellness;

  • Superior oral and written communication skills in Mandarin and English;

Additional Requirements

  • Language Requirements: Fluent mandarin and English skills (speaking and writing)

  • Travel Requirements: This position might require domestic travel to Nike territory offices
