General Motors Software Program Quality Manager in Shanghai, China

Job Description

I. Background Information:

Position Title: Software Program Quality Manager

Function: Product Development Quality (PDQ), GM China Quality Department

II. Areas of Responsibility:

  • Primary responsibility in supporting PDQ Infotainment and Software Quality processes listed below:

  • Lead GMPI (GM Premium Import) and Support SGM, PATAC and SGMW relative to Program Software and Electrical Architecture Quality Readiness Reviews (SWQRR) implementation and execution by serving as the China regional SWQRR process subject matter expert (SME).

  • Join weekly Global SWQRR meetings, pre-reviews and hot issues deep dives and related to software quality.

  • Lead GMPI and support SGM/PATAC for L2++ execution

  • Lead GMPI software related process (OTA, reflash, etc.) establish, execution and continuous improvement.

  • Support Global Software related initiatives executions as regional lead and bring regional best practices to Global teams:

  • Support Global Software Define Vehicle (SDV) as regional lead to understand China customer expectations, enable GM to offer software-based services and features to meet/exceed their expectations and ensure a high quality customer experience

  • Support Global Software KPI initiative implementation as regional lead to develop and establish a process to use Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to determine success of software products.

  • Assist with Infotainment & Software quality specific projects such as: Infotainment strategy development for Capture Test Fleet and On Road Vehicle Testing (CTF/ORVT), current product improvement team implementation, etc.

  • Support Customer Experience Confirmation Ride ( CxCR) planning and execution for Product Programs by serving as the process SME.

  • Support GMPI for software related issue resolution tracking captured through CxCR, CTF, DWG etc.

  • Attend global infotainment software customer experience discussions and ensure China’s customer expectations and Voice of Customer (VoC) are incorporated in Global infotainment and Software related development Cycles.

  • Support the process documentation translations as needed.

  • Secondary responsibility as Software Program Quality Manager is to exbibit the Global Quality Behaviors and to ensure segment leading vehicles and flawless launches through execution of Global Program Development Quality best practices, which includes Infotainment & Software Quality processes by

  • Providing as needed support to the GMPI, SGM, PATAC and SGMW in implementation and execution of GM Global Program Quality Plan (PQP) standard work elements and GM’s quality best practices during the JV’s or GM’s Global Vehicle Development Process (GVDP)

  • Sharing JV learning and JV best practices with GMPI & GM Global PDQ functional leads.

  • Joining weekly global calls for assigned PDQ work elements as needed, or when the China JV’s direct participation is restricted due to GM confidential and proprietary information concerns.
