Job Overview

We have an exciting job opportunity for a Team Leader - Engineering to join us in our Shanghai, China office. This position is responsible for leading our local team with a focus on multiple service lines as well as growing our business in greater China. A strong background in leading fire protection and code consulting services, especially in the hospitality market, is highly desirable. This position will have a focus on client engagement, business development and growth for the Shanghai office and greater China. We are looking for a strong operations leader with good business acumen and a growth mindset. The individual will report to our VP of Operations in Asia.

Responsibilities

• The Team leader performs Senior level technical work approximately 50% of the time, while also leading a team that includes technical staff providing professional consulting services.

• Function as the site leader coordinating all tasks associated with this role including property management interface, facilitate company-wide communications such as town halls and host site meetings.

• Work with leadership team to promote a positive and healthy office culture.

• Maintain strong working relationships with clients and colleagues to deliver quality products, on time and within budget.

• Manage client expectations and relationships through clear and thoughtful oral and/or written communication and assist team members in doing the same.

• Ensure business processes are implemented and recommend improvement for delivering of best-in-class service.

• Assist in recruiting and retaining top talent.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or other technical field.

• 8-12 years’ experience and demonstrated successful history in performing technical consulting work and developing and cultivating client relationships.

• China National Grade 1 Fire Engineer License

• Experience in hospitality management / system design.

• Experience in professional service business processes.

• Advanced communication (oral and/or written) and presentation skills with the ability to deliver sales presentations to clients. This position located in Shanghai and candidate must be a Shanghai resident.

• Professional Engineering (P.E.) License or another equivalent professional designation desirable.

• Expertise in conducting simulation/modeling.

• Bilingual (English/Mandarin)
