Description Robert Half is searching for an efficient Staff Accountant to join their growing team on a permanent basis. In this role, the Staff Accountant is in charge of preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. Throughout the monthly close, you will also be responsible for various aspects of internal reporting. You will assist in developing and implementing accounting policies. Also, you will take part in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes. This position is very involved as it will produce Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. This company, based in the Shelton, Washington area, offers a challenging and multi-faceted opportunity where effort is rewarded.
Your responsibilities
Manage reconciliation, depreciation, and fixed asset ledgers
Prepare monthly financial close workbooks to support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process
Maintain intercompany transactions, billings, and reconciliation
Survey and organize various financial data, reporting it in a useful and understandable manner
Become well-versed in month end balance sheet account reconciliations
Assemble journal entries and thorough account reconciliations that include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll
Perform month end close, journal entries, with minimum supervision
Ad hoc reporting and performing special projects upon request
Compose analyses for income statements and monthly balance sheets for management reporting
Organize schedules for monthly payments and capital lease
Play a part in a variety of department-wide initiatives
Contribute to the implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Periodically maintain and reconcile journal entries Requirements - Detailed and have the ability work independently
Experience with ERP systems
Recent and relevant accounting experience
Accomplished in analytical, quantitative and social skills
Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities
Spreadsheet and database capabilities
Proven knowledge of Reconcile Account
Analyze Variance experience
Experience with Explain Variance
Comprehensive knowledge of account analysis
Wide ranging experience with financial analysis
Well-founded grasp of general ledger
Proficiency in Financial Statement
Practical knowledge of Tax Reporting
General familiarity with financial reporting
Quality experience with journal entries
Month end closings experience preferred
Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment
Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Ability and willingness to meet business critical deadlines
