Philips Localization Engineer in Shenzhen, China

Your role:

  • Drive localization projects end to end by managing all phases of assigned translation projects. This includes pre and post-processing of files using standard localization tools, supplier communications and conducting the final review process.

  • Write plans and reports that fit a defined structure based on Quality and Regulatory requirements.

  • Execute project according to schedule, track project status via calls and communication from suppliers to provide updates to the core team and monitor for any issues.

  • Manage the review and validation processes of user documentation, user interface strings, voice prompts and labels.

  • Write reports based on existing templates to exhibit localization procedural requirements are met.

  • Resolve linguistic and technical queries from suppliers.

  • Contribute to internal team initiatives by delivering timely translations for all product release.

  • Maintain administrative documentation for projects including PO’s and milestone tracking.

You're the right fit if:

  • BA/BS from an accredited university

  • 4+ years of experience in localization, or equivalent project management or program management experience

  • Knowledge of standard translation processes and translation tools

  • Strong communication skills in written and spoken English

  • Detail oriented while able to multi-task

  • Team oriented, but able to work independently

  • Strong computer skills including PC and proficiency with Windows, Word, Excel, and Outlook as well as any TM Localization tools

  • Familiarity with technical writing and DTP tools, preferably Adobe FrameMaker and Illustrator is a plus

  • Knowledge of a content management system (e.g., ST4) is helpful

  • Background in medical or regulated industry is helpful

  • Experience with technical writing helpful, but not required

  • Knowledge of another language besides English preferable

  • Linguistic background helpful
