Summary

  • The Operations Excellence leader directs and leads all Continuous Improvement activity across the Site. Provides leadership and delivery of improvement programs to increases the sites competitiveness. Personal delivery of Lean Sigma Black Belt projects and the coaching of Green Belts/Kaizens/A3s, the lead source of expertise on the application of lean sigma tools and techniques.

  • A member of the Site Leadership team accountable for the current site performance, whilst shaping the future strategy.

  • Provide leadership and management for the lean function & lean culture for the Loughborough Facility. Enhance and improve the Loughborough site in its lean transformation through the implementation of the Parker Lean System (PLS). Deliver practical, hands-on training to associates in PLS methodology and tools to eliminate waste in all administrative, manufacturing and support functions. Measures and reports progress on an on-going basis using the Win Scorecard and PLS Lean Journey Assessment.

Core Responsibilities

  • Drive the Parker Lean System (PLS) across the site leadership and align with all functions on PLS. Act as the interface between the site and the Division Quality & Lean Manager in all Improvement / PLS matters.

  • Guide all PLS initiatives within the Facility. Work with Site Leadership staff and shop floor on Lean Implementation using Parker Lean Systems as the principal tool.

  • Support the division Quality & Lean Manager on the development and implementation of a robust Lean Future State Strategy for the facility.

  • Ensure adherence to PLS standards at the Facility for value stream and team improvement boards, enabling a PDCA culture and progression of the Lean Journey.

  • Lead the business with regard to Business Continuity and Risk Management alongside ensuring effective strategy deployment into the site and its execution.

  • Deliver of business improvements and cost savings through the delivery of improvement Projects.

  • Coach effectively to increase capabilities across the site for Green Belts & problem solving (Kaizen/ A3s).

  • Analyse, measure the effectiveness of complex business processes and develops sustainable, repeatable and quantifiable business process improvements in support of Site leadership goals.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

  • A good understanding of lean principles such as Value Stream Mapping, Just-In-Time, Demand Flow, Single Piece Flow, Six S’s, Visual Management, Total Productive Maintenance, Continuous Improvement Process, Kaizen, SPC, Six Sigma and Communication Tools.

  • Has successfully led Kaizen events within a manufacturing environment. Has participated in numerous other Kaizen events preferably in both the manufacturing and office areas.

  • Demonstrable understanding of financial measurements and goals in the Lean enterprise.

  • Demonstrated leadership, project management, facilitation and problem-solving skills.

  • Lean Sigma Black Belt.

  • Results focused with track record of delivery of improvements.
