Welding Supervisor

Job Description
As a Welding Supervisor, you will be responsible for reading blueprints and shop drawings, measuring and fitting parts to precise tolerances, and performing high purity sanitary stainless welding. You will work with various materials, including 316L and Monel, and ensure the production of high-quality welds. Your role will also involve TIG welding stainless steel tubing of varying diameters, fabricating and welding vacuum lines, troubleshooting welding equipment, and ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental procedures. Additionally, you will supervise and direct welders in their weekly tasks, comply with production philosophies, and continuously expand your knowledge and skill base.
Responsibilities
Read blueprints and shop drawings.
Measure and fit parts to tolerances of less than 0.010" with height gauges, calipers, and related equipment.
Perform high purity sanitary stainless welding.
Weld 316L and Monel to produce high-quality welds.
TIG weld stainless steel tubing ranging from 1/4" to 10" diameters, with or without the aid of a weld positioner.
Fabricate and weld vacuum lines.
Troubleshoot welding equipment.
Comply with health, safety, and environmental procedures and ensure the cleanliness of the area.
Adhere to production philosophies designed to increase production, safety, and quality, such as Lean Manufacturing, 5s, and TWI methodologies.
Supervise welders and direct them in weekly tasks.
Sit and work on a computer for long periods.
Wear safety glasses and other required protection in the production area.
Essential Skills
Minimum of 1 year of experience performing GTAW welding.
Strong GTAW welding skills and knowledge of equipment operation.
Ability to comply with directions, shop safety procedures, and production standards.
Proficiency in reading and understanding engineering prints.
TIG welding proficiency in light gauge stainless steel.
Knowledge of basic weld symbols.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Basic arithmetic and geometry skills preferred.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with robotic welding.
Understanding of production philosophies such as Lean Manufacturing, 5s, and TWI methodologies.

The work environment includes periodic noise increases in the manufacturing facility, while the office environment is usually quiet and respectful. Safety glasses and other required safety protection should be worn when in the manufacturing facility. The company offers a steel-toed boot/shoe program.

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00
