Purpose of the role

Colas Ltd. have an exciting opportunity for a L&D Coordinator to join the team on a 12 months FTC (Maternity Cover) to be predominantly based at our Bescot office, WS1 4NL. Working with the Talent Development Manager and L&D team, this is a demanding, operational L&D co-ordination role. The L&D function co-ordinates and manages all training and learning activities within the UK, liaising with internal stakeholders across the different business units as well as building and maintaining relationships with our external suppliers who support our training needs across the business.

Main Responsibilities

The L&D Coordinator will be heavily involved with the c o-ordination and management of daily training requests and development needs for all employees, working with the team and Talent Development Manager in implementing the L&D strategy and being a proactive and key member of the L&D team, and wider HR team in ensuring the L&D & HR function operate an effective support service within the organisation. On a day to day you will s upport Apprenticeship Programmes, including recruitment, induction and onboarding and other activities. You will be responsible with assisting with audits, both internal and external when required and assisting in budgeting activity and managing cost efficiencies relating to training activity across the business. Managing both internal and external relationships and stakeholders, being a key member of support services across the business and being able to develop and own the relationships with suppliers of training services, including agreeing any terms of service, service level agreements and return on investment activity where training is delivered by an external party is crucial in this role. Additional adhoc duties as required.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will have a CIPD Level 3 qualification or equivalent or be working towards one. Other L&D/training related qualifications (desirable, not essential). You will have p revious experience or currently working within an L&D/Training function or role. You will have broad knowledge and understanding of Learning and Development, including the full training/learning cycle. Experience of working with Learning Management Systems, learning technology platforms and having a working knowledge of Apprenticeship and levy schemes, funding and grant schemes and processes would also be advantageous.

As an L&D Coordinator, you will be p roficient in the use of computer systems such as Word, Excel, Email and Powerpoint. Excellent planning and organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines and targets is essential in this role. You will be able to cope with working in a fast paced operational environment managing multiple tasks/projects concurrently. Ocassional travel will be required to Cheshire. A UK driving licence is essential for this role.
