Summary

Chenega Integrated Security Solutions, LLC has immediate openings for Security Guard Supervisors to join our team in support of the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research.

This position is contingent upon award

Responsibilities

  • Directly supervise assigned personnel on shift.

  • Comply/Adhere/Enforce all Walter Reed Army Institute of Research and AR 190-56. Follow and ensure subordinates adhere to all Post Orders and Standard Operating Procedures for all posts on assigned shifts.

  • Meet, greet, and interact politely and professionally with Walter Reed Army Institute of Research employees, VIPs, and the general public.

  • Bonded, trained, and qualified with less than lethal devices, and be physically able to conduct their assigned duties.

  • Must speak, read, and write English fluently, possess the ability to communicate effectively, must be able to write clear, accurate detailed reports, maintain tour (shift) logs as required, can read, understand direction, and apply policies, rules, and detailed orders.

  • Provide personnel screening, visitor processing, package screening and controlling/patrolling area(s) while maintaining one's poise and self-control under stress and be able to intercede when needed in disorderly behavior, accidents and be capable of self-defense to ward off a potential attacker or to protect others.

  • Guards may be required to carry batons and other less than lethal deterrent equipment, cell phones, radio equipment and other equipment while on duty and always carry and/or display company identification, while on site and must have a working knowledge of intrusion devices, facilities system locations, significance of trouble/fire alarm signal indicators, fire hydrants, fire extinguishers and proper use of the same.

  • Operation of licensed motor vehicles may also be required. Ensure vehicle logs of assigned gate entries/exits are maintained.

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Must be a US Citizen and shall meet the qualifications required for all security guards and be capable of holding a secret clearance.

  • Guard supervisors Must have attained a minimum age of twenty-one (21) years of age, shall have a minimum of one (1) year Guard Supervisory experience, or a two (2) year college degree with much of the courses focused on police science, police evidence, law, criminology, general law, and experience in managing personnel in which occupant or premise safety was a prime responsibility. Three years of military police, security force, or masters in arms military supervisory experience is also permissible.

  • Supervisor shall be trained in basic security guard duties and have sufficient knowledge of civil law to conduct prescribed guard service.

  • Must also possess a High School Diploma/GED.

  • Site Supervisor Guard is to be responsible for the oversight of all Security Guards, security related functionality and equipment, protocols, and safety.

  • Must be able to work flexible hours to include weekends and holidays.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Skill in operating variety of computer software applications in word processing spreadsheets, database, (MSWord, Excel, Access, PowerPoint), and Outlook.

  • Effective oral and written communication skills.

  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee may use repeated motions that include the arms, wrists, hands and/or fingers. The employee is occasionally required to walk, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.

  • The employee will normally work in a temperature-controlled office environment, with frequent exposure to electronic office equipment.

  • During visits to areas of operations, may be exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions. Is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise.
