Summary
As a member of the AeroVironment Security leadership team, the Senior Manager, Security Operations and Investigations leads Investigations, Counterintelligence, and Physical Security. This role has responsibility for the safety and security of our employees, physical assets, and information. The O&I senior manager leads complex and broad efforts across the enterprise consisting of uniformed security officers, counterintelligence, and executive protection resources. The O&I senior manager is charged with safeguarding our employees and assets through implementation of innovative and cost-effective physical and technical security measures. In leading these functions, the role aligns AV long term business, organizational and functional strategies with appropriate risk reduction measures. The O&I leader is responsible for the protection of our employees and assets while traveling internationally. Finally, O&I supports executive protection for the AV senior leadership team and designated high-risk personnel. The O&I senior manager will coordinate as needed with AV Business Development to provide event and trade show security worldwide.
Position Responsibilities
Provides leadership, strategy, and fiscal oversight of all aspects of Counterintelligence & Investigations, Physical and Technical Security, and Executive Protection.
Ensures that onsite assessments and visits at all business locations and findings are presented to a variety of stakeholders, including executive level officers.
Ensures that policies and procedures are implemented proactively, practices that anticipate current threats and prepare for possible future threats.
Provide oversight of the Physical Security program, which includes site protection services, technical security, closed area/SCIF construction, and the workplace violence program.
Oversight over large scale employee off site events requiring security assessments and protection.
Develops security policies and procedures that ensure a secure work environment and to include employee travel and tracking; oversees the development and implementation of international threat messaging for travelers and employees on international assignments.
Liaise with Strategic Business Unit leaders, department managers, executive level officers, and both USG and International customers/vendors based on their need for business security related services.
Maintains protection of business assets and employees, including identification and investigation of all internal and external threats to our information.
Investigates/provides consult on employee issues and internal investigations, in collaboration with AV Ethics and Compliance as well as AV People & Culture.
Conducts high level investigations related to national security and international crisis management.
Oversight over the overall Insider Threat Program as it pertains to AV CI&I, DCSA and government customers.
Provides executive protection to the AV President and company senior leadership traveling internationally; ensuring that all transportation, security and logistical measures are adequately reviewed and coordinated.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience)
Possess a minimum of a current, final Top Secret security clearance with current investigation (within 5 years).
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 8 years’ experience and at least 4 years of people management experience.
Eligibility for additional clearances may also be required from the customer.
This position requires extensive knowledge of the National Industrial Security Program (NISP); the Special Access Programs (SAP) environment and the Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) environment.
Cross functional security experience in the field of Counterintelligence, Physical Security, Executive Protection and International Security.
Special Requirements
The salary range for this role is:
$148,891 - $211,365
