Responsibilities:

  • Manages APAC Airports Solution Delivery organization and oversees the deployment of all CAS ARINC Airports products and services and provides timely reports to the Head of Operations on key deployment and engineering activities and project status.

  • Responsible for effective development and utilization of technical resources across APAC to provide business required strategic technical capabilities.

  • Maintain knowledge of existing and future products and requirements and industry trends within Airports domain.

  • Participates in the sales pipeline reviews and provides technical advice on the requirements. Oversees all system deployment cost input estimates, scheduling. Participates in CMS Gates, solution and commercial reviews.

  • Closely liaison with other intra-regional organizations such as Project Management, Finance, Bids & Proposals and Sales, Engineering, Technical Support and CAS ARINC Managed Services (MS) teams for technical exchange of information, opportunity reviews and operational issues.

  • Develops and implements strategies for efficient use of resources (reuse, capital, personnel development, skill acquisition, process improvement and training). Identifies technology tools and areas for third party execution. Assists resolving escaladed engineering issues/problems.

  • Demonstrates broad technical knowledge/expertise in multiple products and technologies.

  • Leverages advanced principles, theories, and concepts of complex technical subjects to provide direction for employees. Ensures successful overall performance of assigned engineering (including technical, cost, schedule, design to cost, product integrity and manufacturability).

  • Knowledgeable of customer's future requirements and industry trends in Airports Domain

  • Develops relationships with peer marketing, sales and counterparts to support achievement key business goals (orders, sales) and opportunities.

  • Develops cross enterprise relationship to identify cross-business synergies. Interacts with executives and/or other internal or external stakeholders.

  • Oversees staffing, development, performance management/evaluation, diversity, health/safety, and employee relations.

  • Understand and justify current and future resource needs (staff, hardware, software, training devices, curriculum);

  • Ensure all CAS Airport Systems ISO Quality Plans and Work Instructions specified by QMS Lists are being strictly being followed. This includes updating and maintaining relevant ISO documentation and handing over the documentation to the 2nd level support group upon completion of the work.

  • Conducts technical analysis of product implementations, modifications and enhancements to product in accordance with specific customer specifications and implementations.

  • Adhere to installation instructions and guidelines and use industry best practices in order to deliver the best quality service. Use the appropriate tools and equipment to perform the installation, intervention, and problem solutions in accordance with System Delivery guidelines and instructions where provided.

  • Follow established policies and procedures in analyzing situations or data from which answers can be readily obtained.

  • Provide daily (when onsite) and weekly status reports on key activities, events, and accounts, as applicable. Creates or maintains assigned tasks on SD SharePoint, and updates the tasks status frequently. Provide best practices for day-to-day operations, performance analysis, tuning and capacity planning for products deployed and suggest and implement performance improvements when necessary.

  • Proactively detect problems, report and escalate the problems to next level of support when they can’t be resolved in timely manner. Interface with on-site maintenance personnel, provide 3nd level supports where needed in order to meet the Service Level Agreements (SLA).

  • Frequently interact with customers and coordinate with Airlines and Airport Authorities at airports regarding technical requirements, configurations and testing of airline and airport applications. Commission and hand over systems components and enhancements to customer representatives. Assist in design reviews and procurement.

Requirements

  • Education: A bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as business administration, computer science, Mathematics, Engineering or airport management, engineering, or a related discipline and relevant professional certifications.

  • Experience: Previous experience in airport systems delivery management, airport operations, or related fields is required. At least 10 years as a system engineer at an Enterprise IT company or managed services organization. Minimum 10 years of hands-on experience in implementation and troubleshooting of airport solution systems.

  • Knowledge of Airport Operations and Systems: A deep understanding of airport operations, Systems Integration, including security protocols, airline applications and Departure Control Systems, ground handling, passenger services, baggage handling, and air traffic control is essential. In-Debt knowledge and experience in Common use check-in/boarding systems and peripherals, FIDS, Self-service check-in, SelfBag Drop (SBD) and Automated Self Boarding (SBG), Biometrics and IDMP (Identity Management Platforms).

  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership abilities are crucial for managing teams effectively. Managers should be able to motivate, mentor, and guide their team members to achieve organizational goals.

  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills are necessary for interacting with employees, Airports and Airlines customers, stakeholders, subcontractors, and other business units withing CAS. Must be able to convey information clearly and effectively in both verbal and written forms.

  • Problem-Solving Abilities: Must possess strong problem solving skills in identifying issues, analyzing data, and implementing solutions quickly and efficiently.

  • Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with aviation regulations, safety standards, and industry best practices is important for ensuring compliance and safety within the airport environment.

  • Financial Management: Managers should have a strong understanding of budgeting, financial planning, and cost control to effectively manage resources and optimize financial performance.

  • Airports Technology & Standards: Must have the knowledge of international standards and regulations set by ICAO and IATA for Airport Operations and Passenger Processing. Must have the knowledge of Airports Common Use system such as Common Use Passenger Processing (CUPPS), Common Use Self Service (CUSS), Common Use Web Services (CUWS), ITPS (IATA Technical Peripheral Specification, formerly Known as AEA) and international standards and regulations set by ICAO and IATA.

  • Customer Service: Must have excellent customer service skills for both external and internal customers and stakeholders is a priority for airports, so managers should be committed to delivering high-quality customer service and addressing customers concerns promptly.

  • Flexibility and Adaptability: Must be flexible and adaptable, able to adjust plans and strategies as needed to accommodate changing circumstances as airport operations can be dynamic, with unexpected challenges arising regularly.

  • Teamwork and Collaboration: Collaboration with various departments, agencies, and stakeholders is essential. Should be skilled at fostering teamwork and building strong working relationships.

  • Travel: Expected to travel within Asia Pacific Region (30-50%)

Desired Knowledge, Skills and Experience

It is desired that candidate has:

  • Master’s degree in computer science, Mathematics, Engineering or related technical degree.

  • Knowledge and experience in Coding languages for scripting (e.g., Visual Basic, Html Markup, Python

  • Chinese Language.

  • Certification (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, or CCDP, etc.,)

  • Certification in Cloud Architect Certification (AWS, MS Azure, Google, or Oracle)

  • Experience in SQL Databases such as MS SQL, Oracle and/or business intelligent tools such as MS SSRS, Power BI, Tableau

  • Have knowledge and experience in virtualization, containerization technologies such as Dockers, Red Hat OpenShift and Kubernetes, etc.

  • Experience in dealing with cloud service providers in AWS (amazon web services), Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud.

  • Experience on implementation, administration and troubleshooting virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, VMware Workstation, Oracle VirtualBox)

  • Experience on implementation, administration and troubleshooting Microsoft Window Servers.

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in windows scripting, task automation and command line tools such as PowerShell, Robocopy and other scripting language.
