Job SummaryThe Laboratory Assistant specializes in the pre-analytic functions of the clinical laboratory, and performs various processing procedures on patient specimens. You will work alongside all testing departments.
Position Highlights
You will work with Lab computer programs and confirm Provider orders.
You will receive blood and non-blood specimens from the hospital and regional clients.
You will process and deliver specimens for testing using centrifuges and other lab equipment.
Work Schedule
Rotate Day and Evening Shifts:
Days: 4:30 am to 1pm or 5:00 am to 1:30 pm and Evenings: 12:30 pm - 9pm or 1pm to 9:30 pm
Rotate every 3rd weekend and holiday
Differential pay available for weekends and early/late shift times.
Full Time; 80 hours every 2weeks
Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
Associate’s degree or equivalent credits from a college or technical school OR 1 year laboratory related experience required.
Licensure/Certification/Registration
Certification as a Medical Laboratory Assistant (MLA) or Phlebotomist Technician (PBT) from the ASCP preferred.
Pay
The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
$18.25 - $24.00 per hour
