This position reports to Senior Director Global Oral Care R&D and is based at Skillman, NJ. (Kenvue's corporate headquarters is currently located in Skillman NJ, but is scheduled to move to Summit, NJ in or around early 2025.)

Role reports to: Senior Director Global Oral Care R&D

Location: Skillman, NJ. (Kenvue's corporate headquarters is currently located in Skillman NJ, but is scheduled to move to Summit, NJ in or around early 2025.)

Travel %: 10 %

Pay: $111,000 to $192,050

What you will do

The Oral Care Manager R&D is responsible for technical leadership and support for new and marketed oral care products under our global brand Listerine as well as shaping a robust innovation pipeline. Works with cross-functional peers to provide direction towards regional goals based on sound technical assessments and rationale. Coordinates and connects with global partners to enable a successful implementation of the innovation pipeline globally. In partnership with our translational sciences team (claims & clinical strategy, upstream innovation and scientific engagement), the Oral Care R&D Manager will shape the end-to-end communication strategy across all communication channels. The candidate will need to be strong in communicating the science behind to the product and work with marketing and PR agencies to bring it to life for Science That Sells. Effectively leads a group of scientists, including resources prioritization and budget management. Identify opportunities to improve work process and procedures as well as people development. Will rely on strong technical skills and sound judgment to effectively assess risk, triage issues for severity, and implement proactive solutions that meet goals. Complex issues will be communicated clearly and effectively in the spirit of partnership and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities
Lead a technical function
Represent the department on cross-functional teams and develop new relationships
Lead broad scope of projects with cross-functional involvement
Develop strategic direction together with management for the 3 year innovation pipeline. Linking technical knowledge to business strategy
Establish project success criteria and monitor progress
Communicate downwards to ensure alignment within the department and with business strategy
Provide project/program progress reports and status updates to senior management.
Administrate R&D budgets for their team's projects
Oversee the accuracy and completeness of all technical documentation, including but not limited to specifications, formulas, SOP's, and work instructions
Monitor standards and ensure the department meets quality, medical and regulatory requirements.
Responsible for administering the operations of a group by leading employees of different levels
Drive/provide input to new policy, procedure, or significant changes to existing procedures, and align with local partners and global partners to engage into harmonized and simplified global best practices


Qualifications

What we are looking for

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Science, Engineering, Pharmacy, or related field is required.
8 years of experience with BS or equivalent, 6 years of experience with MS or 4 years of experience with PhD is required.
Experience in formulation or product development is required.
Experience in the scale-up, manufacturing and/or plant troubleshooting of cosmetic and OTC products, especially liquids and microemulsions is required.
Understanding of GxPs and FDA Compliance requirements is required.
Excellent communication skills, including spoken and written English is required.
Strong technical and leadership skills is required.
Ability to partner effectively across a diverse set of business partners and stakeholders to deliver key results/milestones in a timely manner is required.
Entrepreneurial; Business owner mindset, willing to be hands on and contribute as one team is required.
Critical thinking and holistic business acumen is required.
Ability to travel International and Domestic up to 10% is required.


Desired Qualifications

Experience managing people and leading teams is preferred.
Experience with technical services or process engineering plants is preferred.
Experience in managing regional and global projects is preferred.
Technical knowledge of raw materials and understanding of their impact on formulations is preferred.
Understanding of standard methodologies and procedures that apply to the support of marketed products locally and globally is preferred.
Experience with US monograph and medical device products is preferred.
