The Director, Business Excellence plays a key role in driving the culture of Continuous Improvement and providing OE tools for the Georgia Site. They own the strategy deployment at the site and are responsible for ensuring the site OE deployment is aligned with OpU strategy and is executed to global standards. They ensure CI principles are built into the site master plan, maximizing product flow and value-added activity across the site. They ensure that the site OE program supports the development of a continuous improvement culture and shares best practices with the Plasma network as well as adopting network best practices.
In addition, directs site activities for Project and Program Management and Training.
Responsibilities
Facilitates development and deployment of annual strategic plan, using Hoshin Kanri methodology.
Drives site implementation of Lean and Six Sigma methodology to optimize business performance.
Drives implementation and optimization of LDI as a lean management system to sustain improvements and continually improve.
Provides expert mentoring to process owners and individual Black Belts in the area of change management, project management and cross functional alignment strategies.
Leads operational excellence audits (local and remote).
Directs local Project Management Office. Facilitates site-wide prioritization process and ensures effective execution of critical projects.
Oversees high-level, strategic and cross-functional projects yielding critical business returns.
Oversees site training activities and ensures compliance to applicable regulations.
Develops annual operating budget and executes all activities to meet or beat financial plan.
Develops self, direct reports, and high potential employees.
Develops himself/herself to acquire certification as Master Belt.
Member of Plant Senior Leadership Team.
Sets and coordinates goals and performance management objectives for department that align with plant goals
Coach the SLT to support the CI journey and ensure the CI champion at site is integrated into the site OE team
Ensuring Value Streams have resources and skills necessary to drive site key results
Leading the team of black belts including lean and six sigma champions focused in driving continuous improvement activities through the organization
Leading the nomination, training, mentoring, and certification of Lean and Six Sigma Green Belts and Black Belts and aligning projects to site strategy and key results
Education
Typically requires bachelor's degree, preferably in science, engineering or other related technical field. 10+ years of related experience with 7+ in a management role.
