Program Summary

KBR leads the government services world contingency market by providing responsive, full-service logistics support to forces deployed around the world under the Logistics Civil Augmentation Program contract (LOGCAP). KBR’s enduring mission support of the LOGCAP program dates back to 1992 when we served as the contract’s original prime contractor. Today, we have a workforce of over 6,000 people representing 40 nationalities who perform work on the contract in 14 countries.

Job Summary

As a Cook at our Dining Facility, you will be responsible for preparing menu items in accordance with recipes and providing hands-on operational oversight, training, and supervision during your assigned shift. Immediate correction of deficiencies, adherence to KBR Policies and Procedures, and compliance with the Dining Facility Statement of Work (SOW) are essential aspects of this role. Ensuring safety, following technical manuals and standard work instructions, and obtaining required approvals for actions are key responsibilities.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with KBR Policies and Procedures and the DFAC SOW, following technical manuals such as AR 30-22, DA PAM 30-22, TB MED 530 and TM 10–412-Armed Forces Recipe Service.

  • Adhere to KBR Standard Work Instructions as per the Quality Program (QCP) and the Twenty-One (21) Day Continuity of Operations (CONOPS) Menu.

  • Obtain appropriate and required approvals for all actions.

  • Conduct taste tests of menu items before meal service and ensure food production aligns with TM 10-412 and prescribed recipes.

  • Prepare food with appropriate decoration/garnish for scheduled meals and special events within the facility.

  • Maintain constant attention to safe work practices, promptly addressing any unsafe acts witnessed.

  • Check all food production equipment for safe and proper operation, reporting and following up on equipment requiring maintenance or replacement.

  • Ensure proper operation of kitchen equipment and verify that all personnel have been trained before operating such equipment.

  • Enforce the use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when handling potentially hazardous foods or chemicals.

  • Review Preventive Medicine and KBR QA/QC inspections with the Food Service Sous Chef and correct all documented deficiencies.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications (Required Education, Experience, Skills, and Certifications)

  • Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 3 years of directly related food services experience.

  • Must have a Certification in culinary arts or related field.

  • Must have a ServSafe Certification.

  • Knowledge of technical manuals such as TM 10–412-Armed Forces Recipe Service.

  • Requires a valid passport with at least 12 months of validity and 6 blank pages.

Preferred Qualifications (Preferred Education, Experience, Skills, and Certifications)

  • Previous experience in a military dining facility or similar setting.

  • Familiarity with KBR Policies and Procedures.

  • Strong understanding of safe work practices and compliance standards in food service operations.
