We are looking for a Quality Engineer interested in starting a career as part of our R&D team at PIM’s Somerset site in New Jersey.

 

JOB OVERVIEW

The Quality Engineer, reporting to the Manager, Process Engineering will lead focused, proactive problem-solving efforts to improve plant manufacturing processes and will participate in the formulation, evaluation, and presentation of product, process and manufacturing alternatives.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Works closely with R&D, production, and other functions to formulate a manufacturing process for new products.

  • Conduct trials for new products, to change/modify existing products, or when new equipment is introduced.

  • Scale up products from the R&D phase to production.

  • Utilize engineering principles and creativity, participate and support portions of pre-defined Engineering projects.

  • Provide technical analyses.

  • Make appropriate recommendations and participate in the design and implementation. Drive solution to completion.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve moderately complex process issues; diagnose technical problems and identify short and long-term solutions.

  • Define alternative solutions and design criteria by which to evaluate the options, working closely with cross-functional teams to resolve problems.

  • Develop tactical plans and prioritize to achieve project goals; drive solutions to completion.

  • Keep detailed records of process improvements and equipment changes.

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering or Food Engineering or related

  • Demonstrated understanding of technology including complexities of products and machinery.

  • Familiarity with Product Change Management processes.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects/tasks and adjust priorities as necessary.

  • Exposure to process design/process facilitation.

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Ability to establish and sustain effective relationships with all stakeholders to foster an environment where innovation and cooperation are used to solve problems.

  • Ability to lead by involving others in decision processes.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications.
