Somerset County Chamber of Commerce Receptionist/General Clerical in Somerset, Pennsylvania

RECEPTIONIST/GENERAL CLERICAL

          The receptionist/clerk works directly with and is responsible to the office manager.  The responsibilities of this position will be directed by the office manager and will include, but not be limited to the following:

          1.  TELEPHONE/EMAIL RESPONSIBILITIES - Efficiently handle multi-line phone system and general email account.  It is essential to find answers to any inquiries as quickly as possible.

          2.  VISITOR SERVICES - Direct visitors to various attractions and accommodations in the area, with preference given to Chamber members and LHVB members. 

          3. GENERAL CLERICAL -- General typing of labels and misc. Correspondence with  some data entry.  Help with various mailings assigned by the office manager.  Other general clerical duties may also arise as needed. 

          4. * MONTHLY TOURISM REPORT -* Will be responsible for compiling the monthly tourism report for GO Laurel Highlands from visitor information, phone logs and emails.  Email to LHVB monthly and file reports.

          5.  VISITOR CENTER -- Will be responsible for keeping the brochure racks filled and in order in the office racks.  Also keep track of inventory and ordering of Chamber member brochures and ordering LHVB member brochures from LHVB delivery employee.

          6.  CHAMBER EVENTS -- Help organize Chamber events as assigned by the Office Manager, which may include making signs, taking reservations and general items needed per event.  Also help on day of the events, with registration and/or setup when necessary.

          7.  COMPUTER SKILLS -- Must have basic computer skills for general typing in Word and Excel.  Typing of labels, data entry for registrations, invoices and misc. Event planning.

          8.  BROCHURE DELIVERY -- Delivery of various brochures to local businesses on a monthly or bi-monthly basis.

          9.  HOURS -- Generally 24 hours per week. Hours would vary week to week depending on Chamber events and meetings and hours worked by other employees.  Required to cover the office when other employees need to be absent.  Note:  The majority of Chamber events are held during the work week, but a few require hours on a Saturday throughout the year.
