$17.87 per hour

DESCRIPTION

POSITION SUMMARY:Performs a variety of manual labor tasks. Provides general maintenance of the buildings and grounds at the Wastewater Treatment plant, Organic Resources Facility, lift stations, CSOs and performs related work as assigned. Works under direct supervision and indirect supervision

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Cleans buildings, tunnels, tanks at the plant
  • Paints piping and/or interior and exteriors as needed
  • Cleans various City vehicles
  • Operates various types of equipment associated with building and grounds maintenance including riding and push mowers, hedge trimmers and weed trimmers. Bobcat usage at Organic Resources to aid in trash separation from yard waste
  • Performs minor building/management system repairs
  • Aids and assists in Parts Room.
  • Performs grounds maintenance

NON-ESSENTIAL/MARGINAL FUNCTIONS: Performs other duties and assumes other responsibilities as apparent or as delegated.

EDUCATION / QUALIFICATIONS:Must be 18 years of age or older

KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY:

  • Ability to perform physical labor.
  • Ability to manage time without close supervision.
  • Ability to follow directions and the ability to operate related equipment and tools.
  • Ability to operate (after training) various types of equipment such as floor scrubbers, floor sweepers, lawn mowers, lawn tractors, weed eaters, Bobcat and hedge trimmers.
  • Ability to use hand tools, shovel, etc.
  • Ability to work outdoors sometimes in adverse weather conditions.
  • Ability to make sound judgment independently
  • Must be able to climb and work from ladder
  • Must interact with co-workers and the public with tact and diplomacy
  • Must be able to work in high places

CERTIFICATES, LICENCE, REGISTRATION:Valid Drivers License required
