Job Summary

This position will review material requests and assist others in reviewing material requirements to support the business needs of Distribution, Transmission or Generation. Coordinate with Supply Chain Operations to keep current on upcoming more complex projects for assigned Business Unit. Establish and maintain effective relationships with Expediting and Procurement to ensure that material is available to support construction/maintenance needs of assigned Business Unit. Works under supervision.

Job Description

Essential Job Functions:

  • Review material requests and assist others in reviewing material requests to determine the cost effectiveness of fulfilling orders from Suppliers or inventory located throughout AEP's service territory.

  • Monitor open material requests and/or purchase orders to proactively identify material that will need to be expedited and/or alternately sourced.

  • Monitor daily inventory reports for exceptions.

  • Train others on the Materials Management system as needed for facilities supported.

  • Serve as a liaison for the central Materials Management team to provide feedback regarding the implementation and performance of inventory management strategies.

  • Review Materials Management processes and make recommendations for improvement.

  • Monitor the results of measures/metrics and take appropriate corrective action needed to ensure that Supply Chain and Business Unit goals are achieved.

  • Buy to purchase emergent material identified during the T-Week scheduling process (Cook Nuclear Plant only).

  • Prepare and report on Procurement Engineering, Receipt Inspection and material holds (Cook Nuclear Plant only).

Minimum Requirements: Material Coord Assoc (Grade 05): $60,438 - $75,545

Education requirements are listed below :

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain/Procurement, or related field; OR Associate's Degree (in one of the same disciplines) and two (2) years' experience in supply chain or applicable business experience; OR a High School Diploma/GED and four (4) years' experience in supply chain or applicable business experience.

Minimum Requirements: Materials Coordinator (Grade 06): $70,961 - $88,700

Education requirements are listed below:

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain/Procurement, or related field; OR Associate's Degree (in one of the same disciplines) and two (2) years of applicable experience; OR a High School Diploma/GED and four (4) years of applicable experience.

Work Experience requirement listed below:

Minimum two (2) years of experience in Supply Chain, or applicable business experience, including satisfactory work experience in the Material Coordinator Associate position or similar position, in addition to any years of experience indicated above.

*Physical demand level is Sedentary

Other Requirements:

Additional expectations for the job and could include specific work experience, license / certifications, preemployment testing, expectations about travel, shift work, etc. are listed below:

  • Actively promote and support the company's Accident Prevention and Safety and Health programs.

  • Must have good oral and written communication skills.

  • Must be available 24 /7 to provide assistance for any emergency material requirements for service restoration or planned/unplanned outages.

  • Required travel when necessary.

$70,961.00-88,700.50 USD
