Youth Development Company/PAL Program Director in South Haven, Michigan

Status: Hourly/Non-exempt or Salary

Work Schedule: Varies according to location

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

A LC Child Care Director is responsible for all aspects of the daily operation of programming to ensure that each activity functions at the highest quality standard. They are responsible for planning and supervising daily operations of developmentally appropriate activities; socially, physically and emotionally. The duties include hiring qualified staff, setting budgets and proactively communicating with parents to accommodate their child's needs.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be 21
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Preference given:
    • Bachelor's degree or higher in early childhood education or child development.
    • Bachelor's degree or higher in a child-related field including 18 semester hours and 480 hours of experience.
    • Montessori credential with 18 semester hours and 480 hours of experience
    • Associate's degree in early childhood education or child development including 18 semester hours and 480 hours of experience
    • Valid Child development associate credential with 18 semester hours and 960 hours of experience
    • Sixty semester hours with 18 semester hours and 1,920 hours of experience.
  • Must pass criminal background check and fingerprinting, and TB Test.
  • Current in First Aid/CPR Certification (or within 3 months of employment).
  • Must be able to travel among our centers when needed
  • Must complet 24 hours of professional development annually
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).

* PROGRAM MANAGEMENT:*

Promote the values and mission of the YDC/PAL program

Adhere to YDC/PAL, Great Start to Quality Indicators, State Licensing, and Covid 19 policies and procedures in a proactive manner.

Build a positive relationship with all staff, parents and children and foster positive connections.

Create a cohesive and effective staff team environment.

Recruitment of participants, use of Brightwheel, and any other document/reports as required or requested from ED.

Daily inspection of all facility equipment and supplies while managing inventory and program budget. Determine allocations of funds for team, supplies, materials, and equipment and authorize purchases.

Actively participate in all aspects of team development, team meetings, and administration meetings.

Maintain an organized, clean and safe environment in all experience areas.
