    About the Human Resources Manager Role

The human resources manager serves as a business partner to managers and executives by providing guidance and consultative services regarding human resources matters. The position also serves as the first point of contact to associates for any human resources related questions or issues.

Primary Responsibilities and Objectives

· Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues related to all human resources disciplines

· Provide performance management guidance to management including, coaching, counseling, disciplinary actions and development

· Conduct effective, objective and thorough investigations to resolve employee relations issues and grievances

· Interpret and communicate company policies and procedures and federal and state employment laws. Ensure all employment actions are in legal compliance.

· Provide support with new hires, terminations, layoffs, transfers, promotions and other personnel actions

· Manage and resolve wage claims by crafting the company’s response, providing documentation, and participating in hearings

· Participate in unemployment claim responses and hearings

· Assist with the development, deployment and training for new or revised human resources processes and procedures that impact associates and managers

· Lead or participate in special projects

· Manage certain human resources programs as assigned

Education and Experience

· Bachelor’s degree in human resources management, business or related field is required

· Minimum of seven years of experience in human resources management

· Ability to identify, analyze and resolve human resources related issues

· Ability to conduct investigations and interviews and make sound and effective decisions

· Ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquires or complaints

· Ability to maintain confidentiality

· Knowledge of federal, state and local employment laws

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills

· Strong organizational and time-management skills

· Must be proactive, self-directed and highly motivated

· Ability to set, manage, and meet goals and deadlines

· Ability to maintain flexibility and quickly adapt to changing business needs and processes

· Intermediate to advanced level knowledge with MS Office Suite including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel

Scheduling

· Typically, normal business hours, but will require some weekend work to complete the bi-weekly payroll process

Environment

· Exposure to environment typically found in an office building
