Description

OVERVIEW

Cadrex is searching for a Production Supervisor who is responsible for the supervision, direction, and motivation of assigned employees to achieve company goals of quality, production, safety, and continuous improvement.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage, train, and develop employees to meet production schedules, and the required safety, quality, cost, and delivery goals are being achieved

  • Manages department performance measures and visual controls

  • Balances quality, productivity, cost, safety, and morale to achieve positive results in all areas

  • Present ideas for improvement and information accurately and clearly in both oral and written form

  • Ensures that employees adhere to schedules and customer service requirements

  • Works in conjunction with Quality Assurance to make sure high-quality products are produced as specified

  • Identifies, analyzes, and acts to correct bottlenecks, product defect rates, safety hazards, tool and equipment problems

  • Councils motivate, and instruct floor leads in quality standards, machine operations, critical documentation, and employee relations

  • Provides on-the-floor training to new employees, when needed, and works closely with the floor leads

  • Ensures proper inventory levels are maintained to meet daily production and/or assembly needs

  • Manages department priorities

  • Assist in creating production schedules to ensure the production floor is meeting its production goals and efficiently operating

Requirements

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years as a production supervisor in a manufacturing environment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Previous experience with machine shop, metal fabrication, or welding environments is a plus

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals

  • Ability to read and understand blueprints. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals

  • Knowledge of Word Processing software; Spreadsheet software; Inventory software and Manufacturing software

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's degree is preferred

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to the risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and occasionally loud.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
