Job Details:
This position is responsible for the overall business management of an
assigned customer group of customers.The individual must have the
ability to understand all facets of the business which includes sales
marketing production logistics R D and QA. The position requires the
ability to motivate these groups to work together to satisfy major
customers. Responsibilities include the development of new business
opportunities and growth of existing businesses to improve the company s
strategic position in the industry. Dir Sales responsibilities include
hiring training developing motivating and evaluating senior level
account managers in order to achieve division and company goals and
objectives. Regular duties include the evaluation development
negotiation and implementation of specific Sales Customer Development
programs including product specifications that meet the division sales
and profit goals. This responsibility requires fundamental knowledge of
business contracts and requires detailed involvement with the Tyson
Legal Department. Additional responsibilities include the following:
Developing strong working relationships with senior managers across
multiple departments of customer organizations i.e. Purchasing R D and
Culinary Marketing etc.; working closely with Tyson Customer Development
on marketing strategies to further entrench the company s presence
within the account; closely monitoring market conditions industry trends
and effectively developing and presenting business updates competitive
activity to management; developing and managing budgets directly related
to trade funds travel and entertainment and other business related
expenditures; working closely with Tyson Credit to monitor customer
financial stability and invoice payment performance; working with Tyson
Product Management to effectively manage National Account product lines
including product specifications and labeling as well as the supervision
of divisional R D projects; working with R D to develop products that
meet the specific needs of the customer as well as the development of
new products that coincide with the divisions long term strategic goals;
functioning closely with Tyson Logistics and Operations regarding
divisional activity directly related to production forecasting
scheduling product quality and customer visits to complex locations;
interacting with Tyson Transportation internal product movement and
outside transportation to assist with product flow and distribution;
supervising divisional activity regarding pricing invoice deductions and
service related issues; other duties as needed.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Bachelor s degree or equivalent.
Experience: 10 plus years of sales experience required, with at least 4
of those years in a sales leadership role Computer Skills: Basic
computer skills. Knowledge of the Tyson Systems is helpful.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Special Skills: Requires a thorough understanding of production
processes and the ability to utilize this information in meeting
customer expectations and requirements. Supervisory: This position is
responsible for supervising a group of personnel in a single department
or work unit who perform similar and or interrelated tasks and
activities.
Travel: Extensive travel 20 or more trips per year.
