Summary: As a contributing team member, the Sales Account Manager
will report directly to a Director of Sales (DOS). The position will
have regular interactions with the DOS and other regional sales managers
while focusing on cultivating relationships with assigned Convenience
Store accounts. This person will be accountable for building
relationships, selling in new items, negotiating contracts, and
prioritizing efforts against the plan. This position is expected to work
cross-functionally with various business units and trade teams to build
new business, protect the core business, create a competitive advantage,
and attain mix and volume targets within our value-added product
portfolio.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and nurture professional relationships with assigned
Convenience Store accounts within the market to achieve business
objectives.
- Gather and maintain key insights for all assigned accounts
including: size of business, product opportunities, competitive set,
and potential hurdles.
- Track progress using provided tools, reporting status so all
applicable parties are aware.
- Manage all strategic initiatives.
- Work with SS&P, Customer Planning and Development, distribution,
Business Units, and Revenue Management teams to deliver against
sales plans.
- Manage customer presentations, marketing programs, expense
management, complaint and deduction resolution.
- Provide sales support at customer events, including product sampling
and presenting key features and benefits.
- Deliver against volume goals and execute price strategies within the
marketplace.
- Manage spend associated with volume and product mix.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum 5 years outside sales experience in Food
Service, Food Service Manufacturing, or Distributor Sales preferred.
- Education: Bachelor\'s degree or equivalent work experience.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication
skills.
- Special Skills: Strategic thinking, negotiation skills,
understanding of motivational leadership skills, conflict resolution
skills.
- Computer Skills: Experience with Microsoft Office products.
- Travel: 30 - 50%
