Duration: Starting as a 6+ month contract with strong possibility of
extensions or conversion to permanent position.
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Software Asset
Management (SAM) Analyst to join our team. The SAM Analyst will be
responsible for managing and optimizing our organization\'s software
assets, ensuring compliance with licensing agreements, and maximizing
cost savings. The ideal candidate will have experience in software
licensing, data analysis, and vendor management, with a strong
understanding of software asset management best practices and industry
standards.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the lifecycle of software assets, including procurement,
deployment, usage tracking, and retirement.
- Conduct regular audits and assessments of software licenses and
usage to ensure compliance with licensing agreements and optimize
software spend.
- Analyze software usage data, license entitlements, and deployment
metrics to identify opportunities for cost savings, license
optimization, and process improvement.
- Maintain accurate records of software licenses, contracts, and
entitlements in the SAM tool or asset management database.
- Collaborate with procurement, IT, and finance teams to ensure
alignment between software purchasing decisions, budgeting, and
compliance requirements.
- Develop and maintain relationships with software vendors and
resellers to stay informed about licensing changes, negotiate
favorable terms, and resolve licensing disputes.
- Provide guidance and support to internal stakeholders on software
licensing policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Assist in the implementation and maintenance of software asset
management tools and processes to support effective license
management and compliance.
- Generate reports and dashboards to communicate software asset
management metrics, compliance status, and cost-saving opportunities
to stakeholders.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulations, and best
practices in software asset management, and make recommendations for
process improvements and tool enhancements.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of SW Asset management experience
- Proven experience as a Software Asset Management Analyst or similar
role, with a focus on software licensing and data analysis.
- Strong understanding of software licensing models, agreements, and
compliance requirements for major software vendors (e.g., Microsoft,
Adobe, Oracle).
- Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools such as Microsoft
Excel, Power BI, or Tableau.
- Experience with software asset management tools such as ServiceNow
SAM, Flexera FlexNet Manager, or Snow Software.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to
interpret complex data and identify trends and insights.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in managing software license
records and compliance documentation.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability
to collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate complex
concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
