State of Massachusetts Program Coordinator III - Training Coordinator in Springfield, Massachusetts

The Department of Developmental Services (DDS) is seeking qualified candidates for the Central/West State-Operated Community Services Training Coordinator position. This role is an integral position within the Central/West State-Operated Community Services System. The Central West State Operated Community Services system is a large residential based organization that is comprised of 3 provider agencies (Commonwealth Community Services (CCS), Central Residential Services (CRS), and Templeton Community Services (TCS) that support 102 homes, 400 adults with intellectual disabilities, and approximately 1400 employees. The Central/West Training Coordinator will work closely with the Director of State-Operated Community Services and the CCS, CRS, and TCS Directors to develop a comprehensive staff training program. The Training Coordinator will provide training information to State Op. Senior Managers and participate in identifying training needs and implementing training schedules and strategies to address identified needs. The training program will include New Employee Orientation (NEO), home specific trainings, mandatory DDS and EHS trainings, and identified areas of programmatic need. The Training Coordinator will also work with the Regional Learning and Development Team on NEO content and scheduling. This position is required to have or receive training certification in the DDS sponsored Proactive Approaches to Behavioral Challenges (PABC). This position will provide in person training for CW State Operated employees in PABC. The Training Coordinator will also provide train the trainer sessions to increase the pool of qualified PABC trainers in the state operated system. The Training Coordinator will provide training for DDS staff in topics related to the Individual Support Plan (ISP) and other related planning processes, policies and procedures, quality assurance, and other relevant issues/topics related to the operations of the state operated system. The Training Coordinator will also supervise two Training Technicians that will provide direct training in PABC, CPR/First Aid, NEO, and all other trainings identified by the Coordinator. The position will also monitor and provide the Director with information on compliance with mandatory training requirements and follow up with appropriate managers as needed to ensure that trainings are completed, information is submitted to appropriate parties, and meets training deadlines. The Training Coordinator reports to the Director of Central/West State-Operated Community Services who reviews and evaluates work performance for conformance with professional standards and Departmental policy, procedures, and standards of conduct. _Please Note:_ This position is located at 140 High Street, Springfield, MA. This position will be required to travel throughout the Central/West Region, as needed, and will have hotel work-space available in Templeton (TCS), Worcester (CRS) and Northampton (CCS). Schedule: This is a full-time, 37.5 hour per week position working Monday through Friday on the day shift.
