Job Summary:

The Director of Treasury is a key member of the finance team responsible for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of the treasury department. This includes overseeing a wide range of treasury functions including investments, cash management, cash-flow forecasting, and merger and acquisition integration. Leveraging deep expertise in treasury operations, this role evaluates, develops, and implements cash management policies and procedures to optimize efficiencies, utilizing the Workday ERP system.

The incumbent acts as liaison between Accounting, business units, and banking partners to ensure accurate recording of cash activity, proper controls over cash transactions, and optimal banking services. Additionally, the Director of Treasury supervises a team, manages bank relationships, conducts periodic cost reviews, and leads the treasury month-end close process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and monitor cash management policies, procedures, and controls.

  • Act as liaison to Accounting and business units to ensure accurate recording of cash activity.

  • Manage integration of treasury functions for merger and acquisition activity.

  • Manage all relationships with financial institutions supporting the cash management operations.

  • Utilize existing banking relationships to open, manage, and maintain bank accounts.

  • Supervise maintenance and update signatories on bank accounts.

  • Ensure proper controls over cash receipts, disbursements, and treasury activities.

  • Monitor, analyze, and report on daily cash activity.

  • Oversee risk management and interest rate exposures.

  • Implement new bank technologies, products and services to improve the cash cycle and simplify company operations.

  • Prepare and present to finance management company-wide cash flow report.

  • Review, approve, and release electronic disbursements.

  • Lead treasury month-end close process including reconciliation of company bank accounts.

  • Adhere to GAAP accounting methods, policies, and principles.

  • Produce financial reports and statements.

  • Troubleshoot daily transaction issues.

  • Manage multiple projects with varying deadlines in a dynamic work environment.

  • Communicate and enforce expectations, job duties, policies, and procedures for direct reports.

  • Train new team members.

  • Provide recommendations to finance leadership on process improvements.

  • Meet financial accounting objectives.

  • Prepare and present KPI’s to stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with senior and executive leadership on major projects.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Communicate the strategic direction of the organization and encourage participation by all team members.

  • Provide leadership and guidance to all aspects of the department.

  • Take an active role in monitoring the identification, development, and execution of strategic objectives.

  • Involve, as appropriate, all team members in order to achieve goals.

  • Effectively communicate to team members any changes and news worthy events within the department or company.

  • Handle difficult team member situations directly, using appropriate discretion and Human Resource advice to show respect for the individual

  • Champion change and effectively manage the implementation of new ideas.

  • Reinforces team approach throughout functions; support and solicit input from team members at all levels with the company.

  • Maintains confidentiality of business information, including Protected Health Information (PHI), as required by HIPAA and company policy

Experience and Education Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.

  • MBA or CTP preferred.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Treasury Manager or equivalent preferred.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in treasury operations, cash management, and financial analysis preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Comprehensive understanding of accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage competing priorities.

  • Leadership experience preferred.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial software.

  • Demonstrated expertise in bank reconciliations.

  • Familiarity with banking systems and experience in wire and ACH templates.

  • Merger and Acquisition experience preferred.

Employment Requirements:

  • Successful completion of background check including criminal record, driving record, abuse/neglect.

  • Completion of New Hire Orientation at the beginning of employment.

  • All training requirements including Relias at the beginning of employment and annually thereafter.

  • Current driver’s license, acceptable driving record and current auto insurance.
