Description
The IT Manager, EDI & QA will work closely with business teams to prioritize and manage activities related to EDI and QA processes. This person will establish and uphold department guidelines and policies. Motivate and assist team members in completing assignments and assist with the development of career goals and the management and professional capabilities of staff.
Responsibilities:
Manage tasks and assignments for the EDI and QA Teams
Provide regular communication to IT management.
Collaborate with business teams in prioritizing requests.
Oversee and participate in the definition, design, and development of new EDI and QA tools to ensure best practices.
Assist and manage the setup, creation, and implementation of existing EDI solutions to support Bunzl’s business objectives and priorities.
Manage validation process for application changes.
Discover, recommend, develop, and implement best practices that produce repeatable and predictable results.
Work directly with trading partners to clarify business issues, identify technical solutions, and complete integration.
Adhere to change control process and procedures.
Ensure products/solutions developed meet end-user requirements, are documented, and implemented with no defects.
Proficient with customer and vendor EDI integrations using XML, X12, EDIFACT and other formats.
Knowledge of customer and vendor integrations using AS2, HTTPS, SFTP, VAN and other communication protocols
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues with EDI Configuration and Data Mapping.
Experience with EDI translation software (i.e. Gentran)
Background with IBM system i (AS/400, iSeries)
Experience working with 3rd party tools like SPS Fulfillment, Ariba, Coupa, etc.
Experience with testing methodologies
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in IT related study area or equivalent experience
5+ years EDI experience
5+ years management experience
Team oriented and self-motivated – quickly able to grasp complex concepts
Conflict resolution skills
Ability to communicate ideas effectively, listen, and collaborate to achieve strategic advantages for both Bunzl and our trading partners.
Experience with Gentran translation software is a plus
Experience with Trailblazer and ECS Managed File Transfer software is a plus
Developing and implementing X12 EDI distribution documents (including but not limited to 810, 820, 824, 845, 846, 850, 855, 856, 867, 875, 880, 894, 940, 945)
Understanding of data structures and data mapping
Strong project management skills: ability to prioritize and coordinate diverse tasks.
Excellent data analysis and critical thinking skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to communicate ideas effectively, to listen, and to collaborate, arriving at solutions that achieve a strategic advantage for both Bunzl and our trading partners.
Experience with Windows and IBMi (iSeries) platforms
Distribution and grocery industry experience is a major plus – order to cash process
Working knowledge of the supply chain process is a plus
